This is the first time I’ve closely followed a non-presidential primary. Are the polls always just useless campaign-sponsored push polls? Or is it usually better than this?
Watching discourse happen and liking posts on both sides of the argument
This photo of Raul Panther III looks like a combination of Brennan Lee Mulligan's increasingly disheveled outfits from Never Stop Blowing Up.
I think I might be making this same post a lot for the next few years
My new glasses have an infrared filter so whenever I use Face ID on my phone I gotta hit the Edna Mode
The most laughable part of the whole thing is this paragraph of triangulating Democrat nothingspeak:
I really tried to think of a way to not make this post weird. I couldn’t. It’s just gonna have to be a weird post. Here are three unrelated photographs of Tigers players that I had on my phone.
I know it happened yesterday on the delivery route, actually. Somewhere in those 13 hours, a mail carrier experienced a tragedy.
I signed up for some Quora mailing list many years ago and I’ve never opened any of them but I’ve also never unsubscribed because I do enjoy seeing notifications like this
Intrigued by the fact that this trend only sort of mirrors the usage of relief pitchers in general. RPs used to get an average of 8-9 outs an appearance, but they weren't really getting many 3-out saves until the save statistic was invented in the 50s. Expansion definitely also plays a role...🧵
Lastly, saves per team per year. This has been increasing continuously, which means more games are finishing within 3 runs than ever before, although the growth in parity seems to have his a ceiling around 25 years ago. Something to keep in mind when you see the mlb.tv salary cap propaganda ad.
Here's that same scatterplot but excluding saves that were within 3 runs. It isn't a perfect search, but it more or less shows all the saves that count exclusively because of length, not because of leverage. The trend is the same. I do not know what this means, but I am interested by it.
I felt like I'd been seeing a lot of three-inning saves this year, so I did a Stathead search and learned something. There HAVE been more 3-inning saves this year, with 32 across the league so far, around halfway through the year. We're on pace for the most three-inning saves in my lifetime.
I lied, I thought about him for a reason. I saw a guy with a dyed blonde beard and thought of this
I spent a long time trying to find this old picture of Derek Hill on the tigers and now that I’ve found it I’m not 100% sure that this is Derek Hill. I don’t even remember what point I was trying to make.
My partner and I are having the biggest fight of our relationship over whether this drink is blue or purple
I realized after typing this that I was making a subconscious “Infinite Fun with SEGA Enterprises” reference.
