8:00pm. slammed some hot dogs and fried shrimp, beers, and soft serve. used what was left of our leg muscles to dance at what was left of the puerto rico parade and now it’s time to take the subway home. big walk complete 🫡
6:13pm and everyone’s in their own different kind of pain. the breeze is picking up and we’re telling ourselves it’s an ocean breeze. there are discussions about which food we eat to celebrate. the neighborhood we’re in has private security and they keep slowly driving by and staring at us.
5:31pm and i’m obsessed with this building. feels out of time in a way that’s appropriate for a cemetery. spirits are high. (ba dum psh)
4:08pm pit stop at japan village, they’re showing the world cup, we’re eating onigiri and drinking frozen drinks. my feet are starting to hurt and we have at least three hours of walking left. god help us
2:04pm and we just finished lunch at montague diner which has a deal on their menu for a huge bowl of french fries and a bottle of champagne. technically we’re not even halfway through even though we are well into brooklyn at this point!!
12:13pm, we spent a long time deciding which bridge to cross and landed on the brooklyn bridge because most of the crew had never done it before. need lunch and water!!
11:23am, first pit stop, 40 blocks down and feeling great still. not too hot, breeze is good!!
10:08am, people are still cheering for the knicks at grand central and we are leaving to start the big walk
