Retired from a bunch of partially finished careers: Navy CPO, photographer, journalist, teacher, park ranger and general troublemaker. This seems like a good place to be.🐻🤣
You are partially correct. The current DD4 (see image) specifies the enlistee must obey all lawful orders. No mention of what happens if the order is unlawful. And that is the Catch 22 facing enlistees these days. It's a complex issue with no simple answers. Our troops deserve better.
New Year haiku: Rain greets bold new year, Sweeps away old sad debris. Enter, Hope and Love. Let's make 2026 a better year than 2025. We can do it! The bar is low.
In case you were wondering what this whole controversy is really about.
This favorite cartoon of mine from The New Yorker seems appropriate to this conversation:
Our little ruby red town turned out 400 citizens to let the regime know we don't approve of Kings. Zero magas showed up to argue with us. I call that progress!
Written in 1969, this book explains more about what's going on today than anything I've read recently.
That's a crying shame! Let's fix that right now. Here's a dick pic for you:
This came up today in my Taoist daily meditation book. Something to think about.
This paragraph jumped out at me while reading Jacinda Ardern's latest book "A Different Kind of Power". American law enforcement could take a lesson from this.
Happy Birthday to the Dalai Lama! Per his advice to "approach love and cooking with joyful abandon," we are celebrating with homemade vegan chocolate macaroons and true love. 🙏🙏🙏
Great idea, but it will keep you busy for a while. I counted 51 different offerings on the first page of Amazon searches, and there were at least four pages. Fuck anybody who buys this shit!
Me, too. Can't see many books in this view, but they're there. This was my bedroom when I was a kid. It still is, 80 years later.
My little ruby red mountain town had close to 500 No King protesters. We were met by an "overwhelming" 6 orange turd counter protesters. Life is good! 🤣🤣🤣👍🙏
The dark sword on the left was my great-grandfather's. The silver one on the right is my grandfather's. He was a captain in the National Guard during and after World War I.
With all the idiots in this regime giving squirrels a bad name, I thought I should remind you that squirrels are actually pretty cool. This one is named Sandy. She shows up every morning to brighten my day.
Trump seems to have a similar geography problem with his post today about victory in Europe and an image suggesting Iwo Jima. I'm running out of anglo-saxon expletives to describe these freaking idiots.
WRONG! Here's the way you fix it. Stop showing pictures of that traitorous fucker. He's a narcissist. He loves every single picture of him that comes up. Stop feeding his ego! Treat the asshole like he's dead, which is what we all really want.
Happy May Day! My mother was an artist and kindergarten teacher who created this May Day tableau based on a children's book about a giraffe who helps children celebrate May Day when their May pole falls down. That was back when May Day was still a cool celebration before it became taboo.
My mother was an artist and a kindergarten teacher. She created this May Day tableau based on a children's book of a giraffe who helps the children celebrate May Day when their May Day pole breaks. That was a long time ago when school still celebrated May Day before it became taboo.
My grandfather used to make these cat chairs for any new child that showed up in the family. This is the one he made for me 80 years ago.
