And what’s this? Heavy investment in a fully modernized and reliable public transit system? Express trains to the idyllic beaches of Nova Prospect every hour on the hour? Urbanist paradise tbh.
I have never felt more seen - I was just writing something similar last night bsky.app/profile/beas...
I think this reaction speaks to an element of our cultural moment, where we long for justice that our institutions fail to provide. All too often we watch on as litigation is buried, narratives are spun, and investigations fizzle out. The wicked always seem to worm their way out of accountability.
But we got the two starkest examples of the cultural momentum of this neo-duelism on the same weekend: December 19-20, 2025. This was the weekend when Andrew Tate lost his dignity in a humiliating loss to Chase DeMoor, and Jake Paul lost the structural integrity of his face to Anthony Joshua.
Later in 2023 then Senator Markwayne Mullin, who has an MMA record, challenged Sean O'Brien, a union leader, to a fight in the US Senate. This fight also fizzled out after Sen. Bernie Sanders, who was 81 at the time, defused the situation, presumably by intimidating both men with his raw physicality
I still think about this banger from time to time. Ages like a fine wine.
Got my first ever submission during sparring today, held a kese gatami until the other guy asked for a reset. Took a lot off getting my ass beat just to get here but proud of myself nonetheless.
Why do some people do this in their replies? Are you expecting hard hitting analysis within 300 characters from the general public? This is not a lecture hall or academic conference. Restrict your replies to followers only if you only want to hear from your intellectual peers.
I was tweaking out for a sec trying to figure out which steroid makes your hand turn into a little foot that you wear a white sandal over

The origins of the Philly Shell are not certain, but the speculation is that it was developed by boxers in Americas rich and storied amateur scene. These amateur fighters would likely have been laborers with physically strenuous jobs and long hours.
The rear hand protects one side of the head, while lead hand protects the body, particularly the liver. The chin is tucked such that it is hidden behind the lead shoulder from the opponents POV.
Since we are going to see a very talented Philly Shell boxer in Shakur Stevenson tonight at Madison Square Garden, I’m gonna rant for a sec about the Philly Shell, why it’s my favorite style of boxing, and one of the greatest martial innovations of the American working class 🧵 #boxing

Is it informative both on the Holocaust and about humanity broadly? Yep. Is it every bit as depressing as you suspect? Oh yeah. It’s like the mental equivalent of swallowing the nastiest cough medicine you’ve ever tasted.
Possibly niche but I like to think about the Via Rasella attack carried out by Italian partisans. There’s something about the fact that a handful of people commanded by a literature professor with no prior military experience giving such a backhand to the enemy that’s nice to think about.
