England after an opening win are so very predictable. So much so, I have a consolation.
BBC have the explanation as to why. Apparently it isn't a handball precisely because it was played by a teammate. Odd rule, but ok.
Was watching an old Match of the Day, our first game back from THAT Dubai break in January 2024, and it struck me that tonight's team wont be that dissimilar. Different left back, Zubimendi for Havertz and Gyokeres up front. Otherwise...we have more depth but the team is pretty similar.
Every word of this. Perfectly summed up by @tim-stillman.bsky.social
Not gonna lie, this is brilliant. Fair play to both sets of fans.
Literally every word of this is a demonstrable lie. Not one aspect of this description is true. Not the criminal record, not the approach, not the violence, not the 'defensive' nature of the shots, not the 'fear'. The BBC are not fact checking one word this oxygen thief is spouting.
This pretty much sums Joao Pedro up. Diving needs sorting out. I've said it many times - one good use for VAR would be to tell refs when there has been a no-contact dive (forget the subjective), so the ref can book them at next stoppage. Quick and effective. Right now there's no deterrent.
Watching Vicario *still* take ages over every restart is driving ME nuts, I can only imagine what it's doing to their fans. Has no-one told him when to stop wasting time?
The BBC are usually very reticent to criticise police officers, but this is how they reported the LA enforcement. It's very clear that some of these officers feel they can do whatever they want, no matter the rules. The trouble is, they're probably right.
BBC talking about Partey and cryptically referencing 'other factors' is the closest I've seen the risk-averse press to referencing the elephant in the room.
There is so much wrong with this from a BBC commenter (not least 'closet Newcastle fan this year'), but they do like to post their ragebait these days.
Meanwhile, the rest of us with eyes can see that a) it was not sufficient, and b) it was not inside the area. Good process, lads.
So the league is done, we're pretty much a lock for second, we don't even know the number of CL teams which reduces tension, and it's fair to say relegation is sorted too. I mean, just look at the bottom three, the gap, and the form.
BBC making the point clearly. Now compare that challenge to the MLS one.
Reading the red card rules and watching the Nunez challenge yesterday and can't work out why VAR didn't recommend an upgrade. If the shoulder is part of the arm, it classifies as violent conduct as it was a deliberate hit to the face, and even if not, it's serious foul play by this wording.
The silence from PGMOL on what is a clear change in direction on how they officiate this, probably stemmed from the incidents we suffered from at the start of the season, continues to be annoying.
