Bea
@beev
BēAh she/her Star Trek. Scuba. Scifi. Left-Handed. Neurospicy. Pro Housing Density, universal free school lunches, public transportation, etc. I need more space opera recommendations. Seattle, WA
Last night at dusk I noticed a bumblebee extremely still on one of our Columbine flowers. Turns out our native planting strip garden is attracting all the critters! The bee is actually paralyzed and in the grasp of a Goldenrod Crab Spider. Can't wait to see what else will make it's home here. 🖤
I don't know who else needs to know this but Fireworks at Seatac sells building brick Ferry Kits. Also, also I expect to see erry food vessels from the Mariners Opener today - I am excited for the influx of ferry things! (I'm still collecting ferry stickers too!) www.reddit.com/r/Seattle/co...
😂 Thanks for beta testing (gamma testing?) it 5 months after release. Glad to know it still sucks.
For my birthday @llarian.net got me a kimchi fridge and is spending today making us all the kimchi. (Like 45lbs of various kimchi). We had to move the wine fridge. I will not be bringing any fresh kimchi to the match tomorrow. I will however be asking the soccer gods for 3 points for my birthday.
We went to Powell's today and what to assault me but my current book love! 😍 Not shown on the side was a candle called Dungeon Crawlers and it smells like hand-to-earth DIRT. It's fantastic and and! my friend picked up book 1 and I think I'm more nervous than rec'ding Murderbot or Gideon the 9th.
For some reason my brain has hyper-focused on this part and I think it's because lightrail commute time *includes* walking through the garage. When people leave they [hopefully] are adding in that 3-10 min walk. I hope the walkways are wide, too narrow and someone standing blocks the whole thing.
Well the first one is ominous. Not too pleased with the second one either 😬 Let's just say third time's a charm and go with that one.
So WSDOT has a reports page. It can be narrowed down pretty easily. remoteapps.wsdot.wa.gov/highwaysafet... Anyway, I couldn't find a "up-to-date as of" date, but in 2025 at some point Seattle had 17 fatal pedestrian accidents, and 41 "Suspected Serious Injury" ( "fatal" is missing for bikes.) 😥
This is brilliant, intentional or not. The internal Reuters style guide states that an oxford comma should be added if leaving it out risk ambiguity. 😂 I love that South Korea has designated a golden crown and ketchup its highest award for when the orange man visits.
For the record, as a District 2 resident for the last 10+ years, I am absolutely angry at Bruce Harrell. (In reference to today's NYTimes article about our mayoral election.)
Ballots are off, I only had one hard choice: Who should be our King County Executive? I have been so grateful for Girmay Zahilay's leadership as my council member and so proud of the transportation push (strong arm...) from Claudia Balducci. This may be the earliest we've turned in our ballots ever.
So I'm looking for sewing patterns on eBay, here are the gender filter options. I'm very, very annoyed and insulted. And I'm unsure if eBay is treating women like Ferengi or if this is a transphobic thing. I'd like to think it's not on purpose but HOW?! eBay is older than most college students!
Yalllllll @levarburton.bsky.social is on my screen! He's the KeyNote speaker for ZapConnect. This is great! Eeeep!
A little late to the party, but starting my ferry sticker collection now! #iBelieveInFerries #WSFerry
I keep missing @theorcacard.bsky.social events with Boop! 😩 😭 And now there's a Boop claw machine!?! 😭 So much FOMO. I just need a Boop keyring or plushie or idk huggable squishie. 😔 BTW - Don't tell Sammy about the alt text, it's not his fault he's not boopable.
Watching the sun creep up our side while the Sounders press and get attacked. Ugh. Let's go Sounders! Score a goal! Hi friends!
You're welcome! Oh! In that case - have you heard of any of these? Let me know if I should link any you're interested in.
This is some impressive shade. One key difference between the lines is that outside of the Seattle city limits, the Lightrail follows freeways and has non-pedestrian friendly stops that focus on feeders or cars. And with slow street level rail it's still faster for many to drive. :(
Eep! Super cool to see Kim and Jason on the playbills at the Field Hall for An Evening with Deadwood Revival!
Drunk Shakespeare here we come! 5 years after we bought tickets (thanks covid!) Skater girl being sung in, like, post modern jukebox style as background music 🫰
I spent months advocating for my tiny team to keep our Regence BlueShield insurance at it's previous level & just prevailed only to get this letter in the mail today. Less than 1 month notice to cancel providers. 🤬 These greedy ass mfers. In 2024, Regence spent $5K per member to my $13K premium.
