I will try to think of something witty…later.
It is a perfect evening to sit outside and do homework. I’m way behind with only two weeks left before I have to submit my final 12-14 page paper. Time to buckle down, set the phone aside, and get focused. No socializing for me until it is done.
This day/week needs a large pot of tea. My mental/emotional/spiritual reserves are running on fumes. I am not sure why. It probably doesn’t help that I’ve been fighting some sort of bug all week.
It is an evening of cold brewed iced tea and note taking for my final paper.
Friday night me- I can sleep in tomorrow! Yay! Saturday morning me- Why am I wide awake at 5:00? I guess I’ll nap later instead. On the upside, it is gloriously cool out so I have more time to enjoy open windows and fresh air.
A slightly adapted Keema Aloo. I didn’t have diced tomatoes so I used crushed and diced up the few grape tomatoes I had in the fridge. My house smells amazing and now I have leftovers for days. That is good as my week is packed and I need to save time wherever I can.
I finally made it outside. I can feel the warmth already. But I’m thankful for some shade (for a little bit) and a cool breeze to start the day.
I’m finally outside. It’s hot but bearable in the shade. I will try yet again to get into this book I have to read for class. I have no idea why I’m struggling to get through it. It isn’t complicated or difficult. My hope is being outside will make it more enjoyable to read.
I went to bed at midnight (late!!), woke up at 4:30, went back to sleep after 6, woke up at 9. Now I’m trying to enjoy some deck time before it is too hot but it is already toasty out. This might be a short stay.
I will be indoors a lot over the next few days. On a very serious note, Winnipeg friends, if you’re able, please consider donating water, reusable bottles/mugs, or money to organizations supporting the unhoused in our city. @mainstreetproject.bsky.social @raywinnipeg.bsky.social are two in need.
How much time do I have to get some outdoor reading in and enjoy strawberry rhubarb iced tea before the storm rolls in?
I’m working from home this afternoon and suddenly notice this guy watching me. He joined me on my deck last weekend. I’ll pretend he is just checking in to say hello. (Ignore the dirty window.)
Happiness is…enjoying some time on my deck before it gets too hot out.
Me- Is there a full moon soon? (Checks calendar) Me again- Okay, this week is making sense now.
Today is feeling much like a Monday for some reason. I am thankful I am working from home today because I think there will be a need for lots of coffee.
Years ago I bought a Sodastream because I love fizzy water. Now it is my go-to for ‘fancy’ summer beverages. Tonight it is fizzy water and mango juice. (It doesn’t take much for me to feel fancy, I know.) #TGIF
Me this afternoon- What a beautiful day! I’m going to sit on my deck this evening and read. Mother Nature- No.
Sunday evening on my deck. It is cool in the shade but not cold. Perfect for tea and homework. One chapter left.
Time to find out if 4:00 is too late in the day for an iced coffee.
I finally made it outside for some reading, journaling, and enjoying homemade pink drink. (Ocean Spray white cranberry strawberry juice mixed with coconut milk.)
I’m thankful for small hail. However, it can stop any time. Stay safe friends.
I am very thankful for a cool start to the day. I am also thankful for my bff’s middle son’s (whom I call a nephew) willingness to help me with yard work later today. Happy weekend friends!
Another stormy evening ahead. Thunder just started. Stay safe friends!
Take care Manitoban friends! Stay safe. (It is times like this I am extra thankful for a safe home. If you can, consider supporting a local organization helping the unhoused.)
Winnipeg friends, if you are able, please consider donating water to local organizations that help the unhoused. @mainstreetproject.bsky.social @raywinnipeg.bsky.social and 1JustCity are a few who would love the support.
