✊Thrilled to be endorsed by UNITE HERE Local 26. I’ve been proud to support their fights for workers at the cafeteria at my day job, at hotels throughout the area, in Somerville’s very first Community Benefits Agreement in Union Square, and beyond.
Parents rejoice! (And everyone else, too!) Thank you Ward 5 Councilor Naima Sait for leading the efforts to get a port-a-potty at Hoyt Sullivan playground (well, across the street at Junction Park.) And, thank you Somerville DPW 🙏
So inspiring to hear from so many of the people who helped achieve this despite many challenges, and especially from the First Church Somerville congregation who voted unanimously(!) to give a significant part of their physical space to this cause - “faith in action.” /
✂️🏡Overjoyed to attend the ribbon cutting for the new and expanded Somerville Homeless Coalition shelter! Somerville Homeless Coalition. Growing from 16 beds to 26 beds, as well as the first full accessible shelter in Somerville history. 1/
🚨Massachusetts public schools made me who I am today, and I’m so fired up to earn the endorsement of the Massachusetts Teachers Association: 117,000 educators fighting for the public schools we deserve. @massteacher.bsky.social

Proud to earn the endorsement of Somerville For Palestine, an immense grassroots movement that has organized for years to end our government’s immoral support for Israel’s atrocities in Palestine.
🚨🚨VOTE BY MAIL - SIGN UP TO RECEIVE YOUR BALLOT NOW! The election is on September 1, a very weird day when many people are traveling, moving, or distracted - DON’T GET CAUGHT WITHOUT A PLAN TO VOTE!
✊Thank you Senator Jamie Eldridge & @jonathancohn.bsky.social for coming to help us knock doors in Somerville this morning!
🍕🎳Thank you to everyone who made our kid-friendly campaign party such a blast! Great to see so many friends, and colleagues ✊ And a HUGE thanks to the amazing people at 𝐒𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨'𝐬 𝐁𝐨𝐰𝐥 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 - the best!
✊Thrilled to have the endorsement of my friend and former colleague Mark Niedergang, a longtime progressive leader who truly knows what it means to serve the public.
🏡Somerville only re-legalized them in 2019, but if you look around, “accessory dwelling units” (aka “ADUs” or “backyard cottages”) already exist all over the city. I’m glad that we helped lead the way to make it easier to create new ones.
"The housing affordability crisis is the single biggest issue facing people in Massachusetts, and I'm thrilled to work alongside Abundant Housing to tackle it head on.” Proud to be endorsed by @abundanthousingma.org
🛞Extraordinarily proud to earn the endorsement of UAW Region 9A, a powerhouse of worker power - and, my own union! (At my day job, my colleagues and have unionized as Harvard Academic Workers ✊) @uaw.org @haw-uaw.bsky.social
I’ve been honored to support the Mass Nurses Association on many occasions during my time on the Council, and now with two young kids I would honestly walk over broken glass to stand in solidarity with their fight for fair pair and safe working conditions. Extremely proud to earn their endorsement ✊
On the same day that the Supreme Court released its latest incomprehensibly cruel, racist, and radical attack on immigrants, the City Council was honoring the extraordinary public service of Regina Bertholdo, who has spent decades helping immigrants, homeless families & many more in our community.

😮IT’S GORGEOUS! One of the very first Orders I ever submitted as a Council was asking to make Bow St safer for pedestrians - it has lacked a crosswalk for years and years, an absolute nightmare for pedestrians. I am so, so happy to see the new intersection - safer and calmer for all.
This one means a lot to me - I am incredibly honored to earn the endorsement of the people who make Somerville work, the Somerville Municipal Employee Union. Thank you for your partnership, SMEU!
…the result of years of organizing and partnership between the building owners, the City, ARTSTAYSHERE Coalition, and the Arts and Business Council of Boston.
✂️ What Central Street Studios has accomplished truly feels like a miracle. Incredibly inspired to be a part of today’s ribbon cutting to mark the successful preservation of centralststudios as permanently affordable art space 1/
