Enjoyable morning at the Classic Motor Hub Italian day. These two would be pretty much perfect for me. 400 was a manual too.
Not what you expect to see in the car park of Waitrose, preferred shop of the geriatric, "I'm-not-racist-but" Daily Mail class, but a very welcome spot indeed amongst the otherwise bland automotive fauna. The spiciest flavour of Mk3 Golf in a delicious purple hue.
Lovely little meet this morning at one of the pubs in the village. Not huge numbers but some nice variety. The TR7 is for sale. Looked a decent, usable example.
What a day. Gurston Down hillclimb with the Fairthorpe (which included c.2.75 hours of road driving just to get there and back) followed by a cheeky trip out in the Lancia to see @chrisfm52e.bsky.social and Jamie (and his new A110). Beyond knackered now.
Took Mrs J to the flower show at Badminton today as a birthday treat. A very modest selection of automotive fauna (understandably) but a few nuggets. Especially loved the Estafette. Took the posh car, obvs.
On our walk this morning, Frazzle found a ball in a hedge. Trouble is, he is long haired and it is the season of burrs. We'll be spending the entire weekend picking seeds off him.
I love these but have a weird longing for the no-spoiler, base Coupé model. Mainly because the first one i saw when they were launched was one of those and I thought then, as now, that it was a magnificent shape that didn't need the spoiler.
Two years ago today I picked this up and drove it back home from Maidenhead in an absolute downpour... (First thing I did to it was change the reg!)
Poor Frazzle is not enjoying this weather. I gave him a quick cold shower about an hour ago to cool him down but will need to do again soon as he's drying out very quickly. He doesn't like having a wet towel on him so it's either an actual shower or sneaking up on him with a watering can...
Decided it was a very good afternoon for a spin in the Fairthorpe. Parked up at one of my favourite pubs to worry down a crisp lager and spotted the perfect 2-car garage partner for the old girl...
Child #1 went to a food fair last night and very kindly procured this for me. Very, very tasty and manufactured in Barbados so the real deal. I am feeling the need for some form of kebab now.
Good to have the King Blues back. Much more on the pop punk side of things than my usual listening, but Save the World, Get the Girl and Punk and Poetry are two of my favourite albums.
I've had this for 30 years. My folks, after many years of having no money, were doing a bit better and when I asked for a watch for my 21st birthday they bought me this. My most treasured possession.
I love the look of these and the interiors are fantastic too. Here's one from our village.
