One interesting story from that thread. It may be possible that the OP's father knew his son was going to embarrass himself asking a girl out for the first time, so he put the kibosh on it before it could get to that point. Dad probably could have been less blunt about it, to be fair.

Two years ago tonight, a few cats stopped by to hang out. A black and white cat also came by, but left before I could take its picture.
For once, I'm hoping this is either a hoax, or someone's attempt at a joke, but we all know deep down that it's not.

An old picture of me from November 27th, 2003. For many years, I always thought I looked a little awkward in this, especially with the position my hands are in. Now, I wonder, maybe people are right, and I am neurodivergent to some degree?
