Retired and now tender of donkeys (2) and minder of cats (2) as well as reader of books (lots) and thinker of great thoughts (none really). Also maker of irritating jokes, so sorry (not sorry) about that. Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
Our cat Tango sometimes feels the need to disappear too, usually when something frightens him. He’s very good at it.
Anyone in England want rain? We have LOTS to spare. (Buyer collects, obviously).
Change a book by removing the last letter of its title. Here were three that happened to come up together in That List: “Giovanni's Roo” “The Remains of the Da” and “In Search of Lost Tim” (The last is pleasingly pathetic).
I’m convinced that this branding must breach multiple labelling regulations.
Oh, and happy World Donkey Day, especially to those who’ve made asses of themselves recently.
They groom our donkeys too (though the dark brown one chases them off quite quickly).
Romeo takes on the anti-Romeo who lives within the kitchen island. #cats #catsofbluesky
When John Lewis came to deliver, the delivery guys said they’d been betting that I’d gone to order 2 bookcases, left an extra digit in, and that they’d have to take the others back. Nope, I said: I ordered 12 and I wanted 12. Two years on, I’m out of space…
Triscuit is very handsome. Our Tango just packed himself squarely away in his own box this evening.
Yes, we all like chess. Entirely unprompted posing, on different days, by the #cats.
In today’s Cute Kitten News, Romeo (4 months old) seems to have adopted Tango (4 years old) as his dad. #cats #catsofBluesky
Gone back to a book by a writer who can tackle a subject nobody else should even attempt — Lockerbie. Wonderful writing about grief and what it does.
Romeo has been with us for 2 days. I think he’s started to settle*. *actually he’s taken over the entire house and bossed 2 humans and 2 older cats relentlessly from pretty much the moment he set paw in the place.
At a standstill near Nairn (roadworks), and still intensely relaxed.
This is Romeo on his first Big Adventure, travelling from his birthplace in Thurso to his new home in Aberdeenshire. ❤️❤️❤️
Harley and Birch allowed out of the stable for the first time in a fortnight. Sunshine!!!
Intimations of sunshine in #Aberdeenshire this morning. Although it’s gone dreich again since I took that photo 30 minutes ago.
Helm, Sarah Hall. The one the Booker judges missed. The one about a wind.
