🎮🎹 I make game music. 💿 FTL, Into the Breach, Subnautica 2, Below Zero, Generation Exile & others. ❌ I did not work on Subnautica 1. ✨ Polyamorous, ADHD, cool jackets, cats. 🚫 No AI ever. He/him.
I saw this headline and my cynical brain immediately thought, "I bet it's to escape regulation and lawsuits." Then I read the article, and you're not going to believe this: it's to escape regulation and lawsuits. www.npr.org/2026/08/04/n...
First console: Mattel Intellivision First game: Armor Battle, though I didn't really enjoy it. I connected more with Advanced Dungeons & Dragons on the same system. It was kind of an ur-Zelda, with an overworld map, dungeons, and tools you had to find to clear obstacles. It was cool!
I had a great time chatting with @stevenraymorris.bsky.social about Subnautica 2, its now infamous leviathan music, starting my career, the 1991 movie Hook, and a bunch of other stuff on his See Jurassic Right podcast. You can watch it here: youtu.be/7EWOqkuz6Go?...
That's Maddie & Phoebe! They're sisters and they're 9 years old. They used to have their own twitter account back when twitter was decent.
My battered old copy of the Earthbound player's guide that I've had for 30 years is up there.
This is Maddie & Phoebe! Phoebe (with black fur over her eyes) is definitely more of a gremlin, stealing food and getting into trouble whenever she can.
It's a chill day for me so it's time for another AMA! Ask Me Anything about - Subnautica 2's soundtrack - game music - working as an indie - making electronic music - FTL - Into the Breach - my cats - my very odd career path - anything else you can think of
I love stuff like this. My Dirtywave M8 is one of my favorite pieces of tech.
3. The early access soundtrack is available to buy on Steam! Unfortunately I was unable to secure the rights to the soundtrack, so I won't be bringing it to bandcamp this time. Unknown Worlds is compensating me for soundtrack sales, however! Anyway I'm very proud of it and you should check it out.
Subnautica 2 releases today! I've been working on this game for 2 years now and I'm really excited for everyone to finally get to see it. I have a few things I want to mention regarding the music in the game, so thread incoming:
I'm on the train again today so Ask Me Anything about - making electronic music - Subnautica 2 - FTL - indie game music - working for yourself - Into the Breach - my cats - D&D - Generation Exile - anything else you can think of
This is a great question! Andor has an absurd number of great coats and jackets and I want all of them. I'm sure there are others that I can't think of right now.
Thanks! I'm doing pretty good despite the horrors. This jacket I got in Amsterdam is my new favorite. I'm going to be sort of rebooting my fashion this summer/fall, so I'll probably post more fit pics in the future.
I'm on a train and I've got some time to kill so Ask Me Anything about - game music - indie games - FTL - Subnautica - Into the Breach - Generation Exile - making electronic music - working for yourself - my cats - cool jackets - D&D - anything else you can think of
Hey it's Bandcamp Friday! This is when bandcamp waives their revenue share, so it's a great day to buy one of my latest albums: benprunty.bandcamp.com
In the 1997 movie The Game, Michael Douglass's dad in the very sad flashback sequences is Charles Martinet, the original voice of Mario.
For longtime followers, a Maddie & Phoebe update: they're doing great! They turn 9 this year and they're very healthy and energetic. They love their new downtown apartment.
The Generation Exile soundtrack is now complete! Made over the course of 6 years, it's 38 tracks, 1 hour 35 minutes of music. I'm especially proud of the biome tracks, each of which has 4 distinct versions. Excellent album art by @darcydee.bsky.social benprunty.bandcamp.com/album/genera...
