The severe and direct impact these recent wildfires have had on First Nation's in the region and it appears Doug Ford neglected to include any First Nation leadership and I will state publicly that I have never been contacted by Doug Ford during any visit to Thunder Bay. I can't think of a more critical time to meet and connect with the First Nation leadership to address this crisis situation. Shameful

Ontario is going to experience some of the worst air quality over the next few days due to the hundreds of out of control wildfires in Northern Ontario.
As a reminder, in 2019, Doug Ford removed $142M from wildfire budgets. In 2025, he removed another $81M.
In total, Ford took $223M
away from wildfire budgets.

Hawley Shields many of us can't afford to leave and we don't want to. We are a community here and we've been stewards of the lake as much as possible. Did you know that the West Island, now a pile of dirt was the cleanest beach in Toronto.
The water was tested regularly by Swim Drink Fish Canada.
We swam there all through Covid.
Wildlife were thriving, Toronto's Harbourfront has an ecosystem that must be cared for an improved.
Did you know it holds 20 percent of the world's fresh water.
I'm so tired of people thinking that Toronto is beyond environmental control.

The number #1 solution to addressing our homelessness crisis is getting Doug Ford the fuck out of office.
Doug Ford the man who recently threatened to attack a Judge's home with unhoused individuals because he doesn't see them as anything more than things. Who in that same speech stated we could tear down the small amount of security and community the unhoused created because "we will give them housing, we will give them whatever" despite clearly being so preoccupied with bailing out developers he can't even articulate whatever it is that we provide for the unhoused.
It was recently announced House of Hope in London a 45 unit supportive housing nonprofit will be closing its doors in November after failing to receive provincial funding from the Ford government. Most likely leaving their 45 patients to the street or worse.
Supportive housing provides for those in society who are otherwise incapable of being on their own. Often patients of supportive housing are capable of slowly being reintegrated into society, even becoming completely self reliant with meaningful employment and market housing.

Supportive housing is absolutely essential for both long term and short term housing affordability and our unhoused population. It is also far more expensive to build or start new supportive housing units over continuing to fund out existing services.
Without supportive housing these individuals would otherwise be incapable of reintegration, for some supportive housing is the only type of housing they will ever be able to survive in.
So the next time you are questioning what we can do about all the encampments in our province, the next time you see someone clearly in crisis on the street and think they need to have a place to go besides the side walk, think one thing very clearly.
Fuck Doug Ford and his crooked ass immoral MPPs. Fords policies have killed Ontario citizens, and this very well may kill even more.

BREAKING: Ford is shutting down the legislature early and extending his summer recess.

BREAKING: I proudly just voted against the Bill that should've been titled getting rid of the Freedom of Information Act (aka Protect the King act).
At a time when this Ford government is riddled in corruption and shady deals, we need more transparency not less.
