#WildflowerHour 1mm diameter grapes - no: actually Lesser Swine-cress (Coronapus squamatus). Initially tastes very sweet, a bit carrot like, but a strong peppermint flavour lingers on the tongue. Hand to give scale! @bsbibotany.bsky.social

#WildflowerHour Sweet Cicely (Myrrhis odorata) - one of the most distinctive Apiaceae (= Umbelliferae) with its elongated seed pods. Dominating Wensleydale's roadside grass verges, just now. @bsbibotany.bsky.social

Growing on a south facing sunny roadside verge, so presumably Eastern Gladiolus (G communis). Seen on previous years, so happily established in this location. @bsbibotany.bsky.social

There is so much plant life going on here at the River Valley, Wakehurst (Kew) - visited by hundreds, but only fleetingly. We stopped, somewhat go smacked, for about 15 minutes but only took this one picture. Too much else in the brain trying to absorb this wonderous peaceful place...
