Librarian at Hereford Cathedral. Librarian cliche & loving it. Expect books, tea, crafts & cats. All views my own, in case it needs to be said.
Have been craving bean salad in the hot weather, so I was delighted to come across these in an unplanned trip to a market in Hereford!
Hard email balanced out with 4 fun emails. We've shortlisted names for the creature on the John incipit!
Survived 24 hours in London with the littlest, including several tedious hours waiting to sort out passport stuff. But then fun at National Gallery. Upper left corner of sketches is Charles I on horseback.
My favorite thing about walking across the Close in the morning is the collie who does not take its eye off the ball no matter how long the owner chats to the mason.
Columbine in the border!😍 I wonder if it could be this one? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquileg... (HCL E.1.2, printed in Nuremberg 1476).
It's been 5 years since I found out I was having a poem published for the first time. Not only that, but it had been selected by a favorite poet (Liz Berry) and was going to be illustrated. This is the illustration.
It's the Feast Day of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist! It's the feast commemorated in our flyleaf fragment from a 10th century sacramentary. So beautiful!
About to have a sandwich made by my 6 year old for lunch.🥰 She made her own this morning, but only needed half so said I could have it. Very cute.
If only I had found this a few weeks ago: a Teddy bear West Germany 1990 kit, printed 1991. I wonder if @byekitty.bsky.social knows what the other one is?
Looking through my vintage knitting patterns, which are mostly 50s, except the ones from my mum.
