I hear "unprecedented" and think Princess Bride — "You Keep Using That Word, I Do Not Think It Means What You Think It Means" — but yes, USUALLY it means their knowledge of the actual precedents is even more lacking than their vocabulary.
On further reflection and more posts read, it seems that unlike the rusty compass, the dual ruler has possibly better efficiency than the navigator's parallel rule (geometers would prefer the hinged model) www.si.edu/spotlight/pa...
@briandunseth.bsky.social if you lay-over in Boston this summer, an authentic Aussie Flat White and Anzac cookie are on me if you'll join me at my favorite indie coffee shop. Go #NERevs
@notpodium.bsky.social - NASA Artemis daily press conference (in Houston) has a Lectern, and a small podium on the dais.
I love the double-entendre of the "Thickly Settled" signs, goes nicely with "Slow Children," but they're much more comprehensible than Maine's "Compact Urban" signs (which designated where Town not State is responsible for segment of otherwise rural road, and approx where implied speedlimit lowers).
We have molasses muffins with our anniversary @molassacregame.bsky.social
well it *should* but Grant's Family Reserve has been an entry level blend for as long as I can recall. (Thanks to inflation etc it's no longer under $10 per 750, but that should tell you all you need to know.)

@thomasjrennie.bsky.social if Charlie has time for SXMFC 🛰📻 this week , Chairman's Corner should be good. OTOH he may still have work to do! (I enjoyed your game today. They hard cut to TS chat after final whistle, so missed any wrapup alas. )
Ayuh. HoJos and Holiday Inn followed the Interstate across America. (Alas the only Historical Marker by the HoJo#1 (restaurant, not inn yet) is for Ann Hutchinson's husband William's land-grant.)
re the trivia, not only was DD founded in Quincy, #Massachusetts, so was Howard Johnsons! DD #1 is still open. HoJo #1 is remembered only as an inlay in the sidewalk and as a virtual historic marker in Pokémon Go. (The last HoJo restaurant closed a few years back, Lake George NY.)
"Forty of Boston's historic houses" 1912 [fortyofbostonshi1912stat]
Steinbeck actually included that in his one comedy! (Written while on vacation, inspired by post-war France having a constitutional crisis yet again. I recommend it highly, provided ...
In particular, 7,8, and 9 Charlestown St, renamed No.Wash.St. (betw. 1898/99 and 1902!), Haymarket Sq. That the street numbers are not even-odd split is notable in the photo! 1899 Directory advert attached.
@worldbollardassoc.bsky.social I would like to commend the especially festive bollards disguised as planters at our local stadium.
Re how the WTF Hype Train (WHT) crosses oceans, I've assumed WHT is like The Magic Schoolbus and transforms as needed. So for cross-ocean it morphs into a Wing-in-Ground-effect (WIG, or Ekranoplán), one step above Hydrofoil (minimal wet area drag but still some) and Hooverkraft (curtain wet).
@nerevolution.bsky.social @gillettestadium.bsky.social TV crowd mikes ('FX', sennheiser) are mounted into headspace of 132 cross aisle. Below 5'6". Danger of head injury especially for parents herding children

Tom @thomasjrennie.bsky.social has been joking on @siriusxmfc.bsky.social that "New England Revolution" sounds like a Lager, not a footie team, (perhaps because he doesn't understand American sports and missed MLS 1.0 names). Well sometimes life imitates art.
James Devine & Co spirits retailer was at that addresson Wash. (1800) by 1880 directory, but not in 1875, when a saloon was there. (I'm amused they claim their brick bldg was erected in year of it's address) So presumably this is the south corner of Washington St at Northampton St in the South End.
