I thought I was either a "Progressive Realist" or a part of the Perfectly Sensible Idea Wing of the Monster Raving Loonie Party but apparently, I'm French. I will say that I suspect some of the questions may vary not just if you are in the US or Europe but if you're in an American Red or Blue State.
This isn't *that* uncommon for startups to "discover," honest or otherwise, "unrealized costs" once investors pile on, but wow. Man, these MAGA inventors are gullible. Also, am I reading it right? What you paid up front isn't necessarily a refundable deposit or payment? Suckers.

I still vote in my red state in one of those hypergerrymandered districts since it DOES matter at the local city & school district scale immediately, and again, adds to the national & state aggregate. People, scientists included, have a rough time working with Deep Time and Big Numbers (especially when they're mingled with Little Numbers!). It's easy to add one to a power of 10, but walking that distance or waiting that much time on hold with customer service? A totally different experience!
