It's v important that the government implements dramatic NDIS cuts (sorry, 'savings') in order to preserve its social licence among people who don't understand its purpose, e.g. those who think MPs promised "perfection" when, supposedly, it should simply be keeping disabled ppl from being homeless.
"Inclusion Australia is asking for: The TCF to be removed All compulsory activities to be removed People affected by payment penalties that are against the law to get compensation in an accessible way. #auspol
A year ago the Commonwealth Ombudsman found there was $1.9 billion in Child Support Collection Debt & Services Australia wasn't doing enough to identify & respond to financial abuse. Perpetrators use threats & coercion to get payment methods that suit them, lie about income, delay tax returns, etc.
NDIS cuts will mean job losses for the care industry and paid work reduction for the carers increasing their unpaid care work. It will also lead to more hospitalisations. live.thepoint.com.au/2026/08/the-...
"a human signature at the end of an automated process is not the same thing as meaningful human oversight"
A new caseworker at my Inclusive Employment Australia appt means covering the same ground again, Groundhog Day-style. Forever explaining why admin jobs don't suit my body. Why I can't do more hrs at my employer. I'm so 'close' to my govt assessed capacity, they always use a little magical thinking.
The Australian National Audit Office advising the Dept of Social Services to keep a closer eye on Services Australia. To make sure their activities are "in accordance with legislative and policy requirements".

Went to the park for a relaxing coffee, but I guess I'm watching the football.
Previously, I think this was something that only happened when you worked more hrs/wk than I am now. Maybe something's changed. Anyway, something tells me they're going to give themselves a pat on the back (& ask the govt for an outcome payment?) when I'm still in my long term job in 26 and 52 wks.
And the clip is saying, "greater tailoring and specificity would be great", ignoring that this is what they're SUPPOSED to be doing now and we've been promised this before. By the same ppl.
Job Search Providers in a nutshell. One page describing the 'help' they offer followed by two pages describing the Targeted Compliance Framework. Basically engage! Engage! Engage! We don't have excuses to pay them if you're not doing the busywork... oh, sorry, I mean, if you're not being 'helped'.
The handbook from my old Job Search Provider. They lost their contract with the govt's changing of Disability Employment Services to Inclusive Employment Australia. Is the govt describing anything different to this? At all? It's the same old vague promise of "help". Currently sold as "changes".
CLARKE: But it's a cost-of-living measure that will not help the most needy. PM: Well, it does help working people who are low- and middle-income earners. Funny how the cuts to the NDIS were sold as prioritising who needs it most but when it comes to the most needy.. www.pm.gov.au/media/radio-...
Everyone in Australia deserves to live above the poverty line. But also, a reminder (or an FYI) that more than 40% of people on JobSeeker have a work capacity of less than 30hrs per wk. The only time this changed substantially was during the Covid lockdowns.
Rewatching my Supernatural dvds for the first time in a long time and realising I'd seen Ted from Schitt's Creek years before I thought I had.
People who need welfare looking on while politicians deliver their 'responsible' budgets
This is not a quick read, but I think it's worth your time if you want to advocate for the NDIS.
This picture looks like it's from last year. Has he also been identified from this year?
The only way I could own a hardcopy of my latest comfort-watch, Haunted Hotel, was to buy a bootleg bluray. Did I own a bluray player? No, I did not. (I now do.) These may not be sensible decisions in these times of 'cozzie livs', but there's still some situations I really want physical media.
Australia's employment services system, Workforce Australia, costs more than $2.3 billion/yr but, in 2024-2025, only 11.7% of participants achieved a 26 wk employment outcome. (And we all know how many ppl find their own job while their JSP takes the credit) #auspol www.dss.gov.au/committees/e...
