I was born in southern Siberia, more than 3,000 km from the Pacific Ocean. I first saw the sea in my twenties, when I moved to Vladivostok. Since then, I’ve loved watching the waves, smelling the sea breeze, and living close to the coast. I can hardly imagine living deep inland again.

Just watched The Odyssey (2026). Not sure it’s Nolan’s best film, but it’s an interesting blend of philosophical parable and blockbuster. I especially loved the portrayals of Circe, Calypso, and Helen—and the idea of how we bring war into our homes and into our hearts. Such a timely story.

A rewarding day at #SQIP2026. I presented my work on 3 methods for studying embodiment among #intersex migrants . I was pleasantly surprised by the response and the strong interest in methodology for studying #embodied #consciousness . Researchers continued the conversation long after the session.

Visited the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh today. 7 floors devoted to his life and work. I’m not a major fan of pop art, but I was deeply interested in how the son of Carpatho-Rusyn #immigrants became one of the most recognizable figures in American culture. #andywarhol

Really enjoyed today's webinar by Nikita Fernandes, LMHC, on supporting #LGBTQ #immigrant sexuality. I appreciated its intersectional approach and the reminder that sexuality cannot be understood apart from migration, policy, family, & culture. A good resource for clinicians working with immigrants

Recently I visited Iris van Herpen’s Sculpting the Senses at the Brooklyn Museum. A stunning example of posthumanist art and fashion, where garments embody natural forms from the microscopic to the cosmic. Biomimicry, fractal geometry transformed into wearable sculptures. #irisvanherpen

Yesterday I presented Consciousness Under Constraint Through the Lived Experience of Intersex Migrants at #ISTP2026. Studying the lived experience of #intersex migrants may reveal aspects of #consciousness, embodiment, and meaning-making that often remain invisible in more stable contexts.

The Whitney Biennial always gives me new ways to think about how art and politics work together, articulating what cannot yet be named, or what escapes the limits of language.

Day 1 at #ISTP2026. A highlight was a presentation on Decolonizing Knowledge and #epistemicpluralism and the dialogue between Indigenous and cultural psychologies. It left me wondering: what aspects of #consciousness remain unseen when a single framework defines what counts as knowledge?

My first day in NYC didn’t go as planned—rail delays near Stamford, CT got me in 4 hours late. Still, ending the day in Sunnyside and discovering how beautiful Hunter’s Point South Park has become since 2021 made it all worth it 😍

Just listened to a fascinating lecture, "Innate Variations of Sex Characteristics," by @morgancarpenter.com at UNSW Sydney. It was about competing models for understanding #intersex (IVSC) populations and how these models shape policy, healthcare, human rights and lived experiences.

221 pages of embodied transcript data (14 interviews across 3 methods and 5 cases). Six months of transcription work. Now the next phase begins: coding, analysis, and deep engagement with the material. Grateful to all my participants for making this research possible 💜💛
