One of the most beautiful moments of my year is witnessing the beauty, purpose and joy with which the altar is prepared at Taizé.

And the 2026 @dioceseofnorwich.bsky.social young adult pilgrimage to Taizé is on its way. Looking forward to all that God has in store for this wonderful group, some of whom are with us for the fourth time.

Earlier this week it was a delight to be at choral evensong at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Good to be able to give Archbishop Marinez of Brazil - chair of the Anglican Communion Environment Network - a copy of the @churchofengland.org House of Bishops’ new teaching document ‘Hope for All Creation’.

Today the Anglican Consultative Council had its away day to Londonderry/Derry where we experienced the warmest of welcomes, heard stories of peace building and reconciliation, and in St Columb’s Cathedral committed ourselves to be instruments of peace, with the courage to stand against hatred.

Yesterday at the Anglican Consultative Council we had a global conversation about the environment. ACC members reflected on creation care, environmental justice and how Anglicans can work together to help restore and protect the lungs of the earth. It was good to share work with UN biodiversity COP.

Each morning at the Anglican Consultative Council in Belfast we begin with Bible study in our small international groups. We are working through Acts 15 this week.

Thirty years ago today I answered God's call to serve as a deacon. I give thanks for God's faithfulness through every joy & challenge, every celebration & sorrow. What a privilege to serve Christ through his Church, to proclaim the Gospel, & witness God’s grace at work in countless lives.

Mr and Mrs Swan on our local stretch of the Wensum can be rightly proud of their flotilla of 8 cygnets. Long gone are the days when the swans’ beaks were marked by bishops of Norwich (and others) to denote ownership.

On Saturday, a joy to ordain 7 new priests in @norwichcathedral.bsky.social to serve @dioceseofnorwich.bsky.social , praying that in their vocation and ministry each may be an instrument of God’s love.

Yesterday, a joyous ordination of 8 deacons @norwichcathedral.bsky.social to serve @dioceseofnorwich.bsky.social with servant heartedness.

A joy to be at St John’s Cathedral to celebrate the golden jubilee of the formation of the Diocese of East Anglia. A joyous Mass on a sweltering day.

A blessing in Refugee Week to be at St Matthew’s, Thorpe Hamlet, to celebrate the Friday Women’s Cooking Group. Speaking about the group, one woman said, “You gave people hope. You made us feel seen. You reminded us that we still mattered. You helped us believe that we could build a future again.”
