gamera vs gyaos (1967) takes all the praises I lugged at the previous film and amplifies them to the next level. its got the perfect amount of 60s sci fi charm, a grounded working class struggle as the focal point of the plot and even bloodier kaiju action than the already (cont.)
gamera vs barugon (1966) is a huge step up from the first film in just about every department - there's more explosions, bigger sets to destroy, better paced and barugon is such a delightfully weird little dude shooting his rainbows an shit.
started with gamera the giant monster (1965), which is pretty cool actually! despite the dark tone it had a wonderfully awful american dub which def shorthanded it but I could tell it was something more than just a Godzilla clone like Its got different beats it goes for even with obvious nods ☆☆☆☆½
