My initial sketch with oil pastels shows the proper shape of the 5’ x 2’ panel I’ll be assigned. All the panels will be painted live at the end of August. Details to follow
Stars Above Oil City 8x16 inches, acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas My Friday livestream painting is to be the subject of an upcoming mural project in town. I’ll be one of the artists painting panels celebrating the city. Mine focuses on the dark and gorgeous night skies
CONTROLLED RE-ENTRY I started this one today on the livestream. Casein on illustration board. Chris Foss was the inspiration for this one. The thrill of dropping into an atmosphere on a hot burn
Tannhauser Gate and Attack Ships on Fire off the Shoulder of Orion. For the livestream I brought out the design markets to chase away the Smokey smells in the air. Some of these would make a great scene. My old school concept art in an afternoon
COSMO VIBES Cosmo is my studio cat, one of the first we rescued. He rarely lets me out of his sight. Stephanie and I are blasting TikTok with cats, now you can all suffer too
Studio Assistant Cosmo requires a minimum seven minutes of direct attention before I’m allowed to start the day
I swear every A.I. generated photo of “food” looks like something a Wasp would try to sell you. From a distance? Food. Up close? Holy shit Prometheus isn’t my favorite Ridley Scott movie but at least it looks organic You can keep your Wasp Meat danish, thank you
Leaving WT-F7 Station 10”x14” Casein on illustration board Tonight’s livestream painting celebrates the work and color range of one of my favorite artists, the great John Berkey I’d rate it about 3.7 out of 5 Berkeys
Breaking out the Casein paint for today’s livestream. 3pm Eastern on YouTube, come on by!
Wayback Livestream painting - Explorers in a mauve and teal nebula
Color Sketch in Casein, from today’s livestream. Planning a larger painting, the green alien lake was a chat suggestion and I liked it. Reflection in the lake is implied at this small scale
Happy #caturday. It’s a lot of cats, yes. But don’t let me fool you, they’re also a joy
Big thank you to everyone who signed up for my first course, How to Draw Starships 101. The response was better than I’d expected, I’m blown away. Cant wait to see all your ships! Pre-Order today for a big discount!

Fury Nebula Explorer Interrupted by technical difficulties a few weeks ago, I returned to this one today on the livestream. 16x20 Oil on canvas.
I treat every painting as a learning exercise. Livestream paintings even more so. I can be less deliberate than a more finished piece. I swing for the fences. Some months I paint in acrylics. This year it’s a deep dive in oil painting techniques. I like where this is going
STARSHIP DREAMS I 16”x20” Oil on canvas Tonight’s livestream painting, a celebration of my love of starships. Thank you to everyone who dropped by for my later than usual livestream
Wonderfest Specials! I’m offering two of our favorite paintings, Second Star To The Right and Exploring New Worlds. Canvas prints, and Premium Glossy Photo Paper. The 15oz mugs were a suggestion and I liked how they look All available for a limited time (link in replies)
Friday is Live Space Art night! 7pm Eastern over on my YouTube Channel Happy accidents guaranteed
This Deep Space Nine model is my most recent finished kit. The cats have already disturbed one of the pylons making this the fastest a model has ever been broken by a cat. One day? I’m happy with how this turned out, even without the lighting Makes my logo look respectable, too. A bit
Join me this FRIDAY 7pm EDT for a later livestream. I'll be saying hello to everyone attending WONDERFEST this year in beautiful Louisville, Kentucky Over on my YouTube Channel youtube.com/live/n9BLbbP...
