Even went to watch the dumb vers. of the fight's finale. Specifically the og toonami broadcast which is hard to find on the web in decent quality. Shame cuz I do like the toonami ost (for the most part.) The nostalgia hits hard, but damn is the acting more stiff than I remember.
AND that's the og jp version of the Frieza saga which is what I was gonna cap this rewatch off of cuz last time, I did Kai for the first two arcs then og jp for Android & Buu. Man. As I fear, prolly the most painful the filler has been and I don't mean the "5 minutes" tho one part of that was dumb

The filler made Gohan such a more likeable character, its not even funny. Even got a cool scene with Goku at the hospital
Two funny things about this powerup sequence in retrospect: 1. Took ssj3 to top its environmental damage 2. It's just him entering MAX mode in a Tenkaichi game. Wait, I'm watching subs....umm... Sparking game.
Oh hey, its that filler saiyan I based my saiyan girl one cuz he has a dumb tsundere fang for some reason.
Underrated part of (old) japanese #DBZ audio imo is the reverb that shows up, usually in an energy blast. Vocals get reverbs and blend in with the blast's sound effect. Cell firing his ragequit Kamehameha is a good example as well.
