Like, does that sound like a decent content warning list to you? I really waffled on including cheating because it’s really, really not an issue in the books but I know some readers will still be uncomfortable with some scenes. And it’s NOT a love triangle, so that also bears mentionning

Please be advised that this book contains the following sensitive subjects: explicit sexual content; dubious consent (in the form of coercion); mentions of blood which includes swallowing it; physical as well as emotional abuse; and brief mentions of traumatic injuries, gambling, infertility, and suicidal ideation. Furthermore, due to the nature of a story that is progressing towards a throuple HEA but hasn't reached it yet, the romantic arcs include scenes which certain readers might consider to be crossing the line into cheating, even though the characters themselves do not see it that way. As in the previous book, personhood and agency (and the lack of) are also still major themes.

Excellent article, and I want to comment on this particular part, and say that even if I don’t watch The Pitt, I really deeply admire it for not buckling to fans by taking all the shit they made up between seasons & treating it as canon on which rests the foundation of the next season

"The Pitt" fell into that classic trap of having an online fandom that spent more hours reading fanfic after just one season than they did actually watching that one 15-episode season and it totally warped their understanding of what the show is, subconsciously or not

Afterwards, he took a generous helping of ground willow bark to soothe his migraine, then went in search of his new wife. He was surprised she had not ambushed him with questions as soon as they'd both woken up. She had rather chosen to complain - at length - about the temperature of his chambers, then about the fact she had to return to her own rooms to get dressed, and finally about his poor manner in throwing their guests out of the castle at first light. He did not take any of these particularly seriously, as complaining seemed to be one of her favourite pastimes, alongside arguing and being difficult.
What a woman, he thought. What a queen!

Autumn gave the Wizard King exactly one hour to brace himself before she went to find him to get the answers he had promised her. She hoped he was appreciative of how much grace she was giving him.
When she'd awoken that morning, a few minutes before him, she'd briefly considered bracing herself on her hands above his sleeping form and waiting until he opened his eyes to blurt out, 'how did you get cursed?'.
She did not think he would have appreciated that.

The king also narrowed his eyes dangerously towards Hillington when it was his turn to speak his name, making it quite clear that no shaking of the hand would be tolerated

"Oh, well." She cleared her throat. "Don't let me mislead you, I know very little about this as well. You need to talk to the king. Magical botany is something of an area of expertise for him. I'm certain he'll be able to guide you towards the answers you seek."
The mage's eyes flicked towards the dais, then back to her. "Are you sure?" he asked. "I wouldn't want to impose on his time..." But she could tell that the suggestion had excited him, and he was practically vibrating with the urge to abandon her mid-conversation to go accost Eltanin, who would probably not enjoy it very much.
Autumn laughed. "Master Hillington, if I may be perfectly candid with you," she said, "I did not work so hard to bring all this together to tolerate anyone still balking at the idea of peace. My husband may be unfriendly and unpleasant, but he will not kill you for asking a question. He has also agreed to the cessation of hostilities, has he not? Furthermore, you are planning to steal from his forest. Nothing but leaves, perhaps, but still. He deeply values honesty. This will go down better if you inform him of your intentions, first."
"Well, of course, he does," he replied absently, "honesty is a requirement for magic. Yes, yes you're quite right, I will consult him at once. If you'll excuse me?"
And, with that, he bounced off in the direction of the dais. When he noticed him coming, Eltanin caught her gaze and raised his eyebrows. 'Be nice,' she mouthed.

"I will make sure to send you the first draft of my thesis as soon as it is completed, Your Majesty," assured Hillington, for some reason still holding on to his hand, even though it had been a minute. "I look forward to your assessment of my research! This is all very exciting!
Thank you so much for offering to do this, again," he added, which was news to Eltanin, as he did not remember doing such a thing.
Behind the archmage, the Queen of Veld leaned out of her carriage's door and glowered.
"Master Hillington," said Autumn pleasantly, no doubt amused both by his predicament and by her mother's frustration. "I hate to interrupt, but I do believe you ought to get going now. You have a long road ahead of you."
"Oh, yes, of course!" yapped the man. He finally let Eltanin's hand go and bowed. "Thank you once more for the warm welcome, Your Majesties, and farewell!"
