I keep a list of visual art fundamentals on whiteboards nearby and when I'm studying, I focus on one at a time. I study by copying the drawings in a reference book from observation, then trying to draw them again from memory on another page. I draw with what I learned, & note what I can't remember.

Notes label the individual hamstrings as flexors of the thigh, comprising the Semitendonus, Semimembranous and Biceps Femoris. On the left page, the artist attempts to recount the muscle groups of the upper leg from memory, and writes a reminder to himself to try the same drawings again with reference. The final note lists which issues the artist is having specifically when drawing from imagination as far as anatomy is concerned. The artist couldn't remember the hip structure, needed to memorize basic muscle groups listed on the page and needed to practice controlling proportions when drawing as well.

Which mask are you using for your CPAP? I use a full face mask at the moment, specifically the AirFit F30i. I used to use the Nasal N30i mask but I try switching mask types whenever sleeping doesn't go well for me.

Exploratory sketches of an original character, Gainsboro Gray. He is a living scarecrow with an elderly, tall and gangly appearance. His mouth is sewn shut, and he has a crude metal replacement in place of his nose. His left arm is always trapped in a metal cylinder of some kind. His design is still in progress, with this page of sketches showing him stirring a caldron, holding a potion, and leaning against a wall.

Futher exploratory sketches of an OC, Gainsboro Gray. He is an evil, elderly living scarecrow with hunched over and off-kilter posture. These sketches show ways he might stand, hunched over at the back and weighed down by a huge metal cylinder that traps his left hand and forearm. Written notes accompany the sketches, with the artist making note of how successful each sketch attempt was.

My workhorse Cintiq has been shattered. I'm going to be taking commissions to allay the costs to repair it if possible - Likely traditional, though I can still do digital character illustrations for the moment. Details to come on my NSFW account first, then here when I figure out what to do.

From the Archives: #oc #gamedev #pixel #furry Longtime followers will recognize Rabid, Heyew & BLK MLK. I made these sprites for an RPG I was working on with @storyofsomewheres.com & a small cohort of friends from 2003 until its cancellation in 2009. This project is how I learned to make pixel art!

You're welcome to join my Oekaki, or better yet, use the one at the Relaunch URL to test out what the software is like. The way you choose in the Relaunch version is to select your drawing Tool, set the height and width of your new canvas and check the Save Playback button if you want a timelapse.

When they were available, I'd use something like the Abilitations AbiliGrip and cut a small slice in the center hole where it would touch the stylus side switch. Any foam hand grip works, but these came in a nice shape for this purpose!

From the Archives: #oc #furry Rabid's young adulthood got awkward when she developed a deep crush on the Grim Spector of Death. Her behavior during that time earned her a restraining order, & with it, Deathlessness. Her adventures with Heyew has made her a new woman; still a really weird one though!

Rabid and Heyew take a quick sandwich break. Heyew's transforming tentacle comes in handy for menial tasks of all kinds!

Various doodles of Rabid. She carries a lead pipe as her weapon of choice, and is not above a bunny suit for special occasions. Cute, but redundant.

Apparition and Rabid seem to be in this embarrassing situation every easter. Perhaps both of them should leave the bunny suit home next year!

Rabid is full of advice of dubious quality. She makes a twisting motion to explain to her buddy how much "any lady loves the skeletal grip of the reaper." Do not take any advice from Rabid.

Heyew is never sure how much there is to learn from Rabid. More than you'd think; less than you'd hope.

Introducing: Apparition! He/Him True Neutral Alignment He wished to live on through his art but can't remember what he's good at. His lack of focus makes him mediocre at almost anything he attempts, but his persistence makes him mediocre at almost everything there is. He's my (SFW) art mascot!
