one of the legitimately nice things to come out of Temu/Amazon's flood of Chinese products is the fact we have way better form factors for air conditioners these days. I would've killed to have one of these in NYC where I wasn't allowed to use a window unit in my bedroom
But best of all, good design is *honest* , and I feel the Luce is a much more honest design than even some of what you're citing. For example, @thebishf1.bsky.social cites Porsche's examples of rehashing the 911 design language. Not because it's honest, but because of "brand" .
Park a Luce next to a Purosangue (or better, Lambo Urus) and it's refreshingly clean and much more purposeful. Best of all, it actually takes advantage of EV packaging to influence its form, rather than re-hash a 2 or 3-box design.
Perhaps there's a language barrier here and you're mixing up rethink (creating something new) with rehash (regurgitating an existing language.) The best, most influential car designs were re-thinks (as opposed to rehashes) of the trends in the industry at the time.

as far as the rear end goes, I get everyone's bringing up the Chevy Impala (which ripped off Ferrari / Corvette to make that miserable pile seem more special) but it's fine. Again, a whopping improvement over the crap they're currently selling and refreshing in its restraint.
bonus points for having the courage to show this in something other than red, too.
now the interior. it looks a little 2008 to me, particularly with that tan color scheme. I'll also say Ferrari has never produced a good interior. but oh my god, tactile controls. BUTTONS. air vents that actually work. take note Tesla, Lucid, Rivian, and everyone else.
there's a lot of interesting rethinks of traditional car design going on here- no cowl, front aero, and a structure/glass separation that's genuinely interesting. contrast to idk, this scoopy lumpy mess they're peddling now.
hot take but this is the best looking, best executed, most original Ferrari in a long time and even Victoria, you gotta admit Ferrari's been reheating the same design for 30 years at this point.

ChatGPT output pretty-ish pictures that were embarrassingly bad. Hell it involved a mural of SF skyline that had the fucking old WTC in it. But nobody in leadership really cared. And of course, what got built was kind of pathetic, but it didn't matter. It's kind of like that ATHF "Replicant"
