To attract and feed the hungry birds we planted a hedge of 8 native Eastern Red Cedars hoping to help them through the winter with food and cover. Success beyond our wildest expectations. (Avoid planting anything with “chinensis” in the name as those are native to China. #birdsky
Cedar Wax Wing Day! Cold in Kansas City today, but our Eastern Red Cedar shrubs we planted two years ago are bursting with soft blue berries. Also seen are flocking robins, a flicker, juncos, cardinals and scarily a flock of starlings. Too many cedar wax wings to count.
