We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who gave towards M’s table and chairs through @acts435.bsky.social recently. Because of your generosity, the full amount needed was raised within days and M now has a place to sit and eat his meals 🧡
📢 Could you join team Boaz and use your skills to make a real difference in the lives of people seeking safety in the UK? We’re recruiting for three new roles at the moment - two in fundraising and one in our housing team. Visit boaztrust.org.uk/jobs to download the job profiles and apply 😊
🏡 A good home needs to be looked after properly. That's why we need a Property Assistant to keep our homes across Greater Manchester safe, working well, and welcoming for the people who live there 🔗 boaztrust.org.uk/pages/property-assistant 🧵1/3
Someone new was able to move into a Boaz house recently! 😊🏡 We hope that this can be a place of stability and safety where they can recover from their experience of destitution and begin to rebuild their life 🧡 #EndDestitution
Today we’re joining with 218 other organisations to call on the new Prime Minister to bring an end to divisive, hostile politics. For too long people seeking safety have been unfairly blamed for wider social and economic challenges. Now is the time to draw a clear line under this approach. 🧵1/2
We have just posted our first request on the @acts435.bsky.social platform for someone we’ve been supporting who is in need of a dining table and chairs. Please read their story, and consider donating towards this if you can 🧡 www.acts435.org.uk/give/R69367/ 🧵1/3
📢 We are on the lookout for an Advocacy Volunteer who can help us to expand our advocacy and influencing work - could it be you? 😊We're looking for somebody who could join us one day a week, ideally for at least a 3-month period. 🧵1/3
So good to see someone new move into one of our houses recently! 😊 Also, big thank you to St Philips Chapel Street for putting together the bags of hope that help welcome people to their new home 🏡
At Boaz, we’ve been reflecting on our work over the past 12 months, and have been so encouraged that from 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026, we were able to work with over 800 people! 🏡🧡
“Courage calls to courage everywhere.” - Millicent Fawcett, a suffragist, pioneering feminist and union leader who campaigned for women's right to vote. This year's #RefugeeWeek theme of courage feels particularly relevant ⬇️ 🧵1/4
This #RefugeeWeek, and every week, we are championing welcome, solidarity and hospitality. We stand #WithRefugees 🧡 #Courage #RefugeeWeek2026 #HospitalityNotHostility @refugeeweek.bsky.social
Within 3 months of moving into a Boaz house for women with refugee status, Halima* had secured a job as a Nursing Assistant. She has since moved on positively from Boaz. This is what can happen when people have the headspace and security that comes from stable accommodation 🏡
⏰ There’s still time to apply to be our new Property Maintenance Assistant! 🔨🏡 The deadline is coming up on Friday 12th June - find out more about the role and apply by visiting boaztrust.org.uk/pages/property-maintenance-assistant
Great to see another new room ready for someone to move into soon! 🧡🔑 While it’s so important to be able to continue offering people experiencing homelessness the safety and stability of a room in a Boaz house, it’s equally important to see people moving on from Boaz into their own homes.
This year’s Refugee Week is marking courage and everyone is invited to explore what that means for them ✨ Take part by choosing a simple act or by attending a Refugee Week event near you. To find out how to get involved and what’s on in your area, visit refugeeweek.org.uk 🧡

📢 We're recruiting for a Lead Support Worker ⬇️ This role ensures that people who have been refused asylum are supported throughout their time in Boaz housing: from being referred, to moving in, to moving on from Boaz (our accommodation is temporary & usually provided for up to 12 months). 🧵1/4

“For me, the biggest change was having my space, you know, a space where you can sit, relax, think. And it gave me time to focus my energy on getting employment. I moved in in August and by November, I had full time employment. That was the biggest change.” - Halima*
Could you be our new Property Maintenance Assistant? 🔨🏡💡 We’re looking for someone who: ✅ Has basic knowledge of plumbing, joinery, decorating, & minor repairs ✅ Has a warm, relational approach and can build trust across diverse communities ✅ Is self motivated and confident working independently
Across the UK right now, people are quietly doing extraordinary things for their neighbours, their communities, total strangers - choosing hope over hate 🧡
Members of team Boaz recently attended this excellent Everyday First Aid course by the British Red Cross. Big thank you to Dave, who was a brilliant trainer! 😊
📣 We want to hear from you! 😊 We’ve created a new anonymous feedback form that gives you space to tell us about any aspect of your experience with Boaz. 🧵1/3

What gives you hope? 🌱 In the lead up to the Million Acts of Hope week of action, we’d love to share quotes, stories or reflections from the Boaz community about acts of hope they’ve witnessed or been part of in their local areas. 🧵1/5
Another new room ready for someone to move into! 🔑 Grateful to be able to offer spaces of safety, privacy and recovery for people who have experienced the realities of homelessness, as well as the hostile environment here in the UK. 🧵1/2
A big thank you to Neighbourly and the B&Q Foundation for a recent grant from their new Home Starter Kit programme! 🧡 Our Head of Support Services, Katie, shared about the impact this funding is having for people we work with ⬇️
✨ 13th - 20th May: A Million Acts of Hope ✨ Watching the news or looking at your social media feed, it’s easy to believe that the UK is more divided than ever. The voices of those who seek to spread hate and division are loud. 🧵1/3
Thank you so much to the supporters who donated some essential food items for people we work with recently! 🧡
