What is it? It's beautiful, reminds me of a European Jay (which would be my pick for this) but with a kingfisher head.
More tonal experimentation with a bit of inspiration from our Vess thanks to photographer Adam Rossi. Very much a work in progress, these are session 1&2. Derwent Chalk and charcoal pencils on cheap ass black paper. #WIP #Drawing #SleepToken #BlackandWhite

I just heard about Sam Neill 🥺 Searched his name to check and MSN news says he died aged 78 months! Anyway, rip to a cool guy who I had such a crush on from Jurassic Park I watched Event Horizon several times and it never stopped being the scariest film I've ever seen. I don't do actual horror.
Yup. And that bone density peaks around 30 in all genders. And pregnancy can affect calcium retention. And taking t before 30 will have the effect testosterone has. And ignored menopause. They've seen a pink and blue graph like this, know that estrogen matters, and *leaped* to Conclusions.
Uh, I think he's finished. This one is rougher and more expressive but where I like the stillness of the last one, I like the movement in this. Now to resist endlessly 'finishing' it. It's good to leave room for improvement. Right? 😬 #SleepToken #Art #Drawing #ChalkCharcoal
I'm on a roll... Sorry, as an artist, is this my Monochrome Era? I love the way ST use lighting and shadows to hide in plain sight, to emote anonymously and to perform with a surprisingly raw vulnerability. #Art #Drawing #SleepToken #WIP
My bio says I make beautiful things slowly. Here's a beautiful thing I made this afternoon after many, many days of making nothing at all. Because I make things. Slowly. #Vessel #SleepToken #Charcoal #Chalk It might not be finished yet.
So, I've heard that a big blackberry crop suggests a rough winter ahead... Likely just a story.. But, these are the heaviest heads of fruit I've seen on my garden brambles.
It's apparently somewhere around 36-38°C in Bristol from now until after 6pm. This is exceedingly unnatural. I am in shorts and a crop top, in front of my air con, trying to keep the indoor temps manageable for the Void. He has gone from Longboi to Sightly Curled Up so I think it's working?
I also ordered in food to give Matt a real day off today. In the notes I thanked them for helping me through bad days (I have a regular order I make when I can't fend for myself). They sent me sugar cookie stars and wrote 'made with love :-) x' on the box and I cried. Community. Even on just eat.
I'm so grateful that I got to spend the day celebrating my mum's 70th birthday with her yesterday. We took a day boat out from Bath to Bradford on Avon together as a family and there's a big party coming this weekend too. I hope her 80th is as fun. And her 90th. And her 100th...
My new(el post) cat. Obviously he's not new, he's rather a fixture about these parts. But behold. Yoshi.
Lots of ends to weave, but the lantern is complete. And I worked out my phone actually has useful camera-like settings re: exposure and such. 🧶 Pink merino with neon neps: 'Barbie Boy' from www.jamesmakesyarn.com Pale fluff (suri alpaca, silk, & mermaid stellina) from @pixieyarn.bsky.social
On to row 8 of the Raya lantern by #LKcreativeness and I can't wait to see this with a light inside! I've already bought a rechargeable lamp from IKEA to give good glow at home or away! The yarns were chosen specifically for a certain person and I'm so excited to see it coming together. 🧶
I took a risk on these. A base of vibrant pink with UV reactive neps, and a second string of a *beautiful* alpaca silk mix with a tasteful touch of holographic sparkle. This lantern should shine in any light! 🧶
Bijou little studio base with integrated workshop facilities. Um, spoilers? I guess? For some in game tech. #Subnautica2
I love it when my hair is freshly coloured! I've not had a single spoon spare in months but today! Today I found one.
Welcoming a much needed weekend in with @mathewwehtam.bsky.social spinning up a little @pitchshifter.bsky.social and chatting music around the stereo. 🥰
Then I tried the pose from the side. Really NOT the point of using a reference I know but I was trying to get the anatomical positions of the chin down/chest up/shoulders back... And then it went Ghost Rider spirit warrior woman. #TrueRefDT012
I was sketching some prelim drawings of this month's TrueRef comp pose and then I got really angry and used up all my creativity for the pose in this messy Valkyrie/death angel/spirit of feminine vengeance thanks to the CNN assault academy article. #TrueRefDT012
Foodsky? Anyway. I'm feeling rough today but also woke up from the nap hungry and wanting to do something nice with the relatively fancy sliced bread I bought (it's M&S donchaknow). I think I'm winning. I remembered seasoning as well as condiments. Lots of veggies. The cuppa is right here too.
Because the yarn is a cord, it's virtually impossible to see individual stitches so this may well get abandoned by motif 6 but I actually like the pattern. I'm rather inspired by Buffy's bedspread but I've seen the pattern for it and the motifs are sewn together after and I'm not doing all that!
Excuse my poor lighting, but after about six hours of detangling last night and today, I started on the 'Snow in Summer' bedspread from www.freevintagecrochet.com Nearly completed my first motif! 🧶
Inspired today to start re-working my first freehand mandala project. I didn't know what it was then, I just knew I wanted a lacy bedspread without a ton of repeats & I went for it. The middle is bumpy, the edges are frilly... So I'm frogging it all. I might use a vintage pattern, who knows? 🧶
I made something! I even *finished* it! After several million mistakes and losing yarn chicken with the pale pink two and a half rows from the end. It's also 10 stitches too big around because even triple counting can't beat dyscalculia! Those stitches cost me the yarn chicken! 😆 🧶
I dip out, I come back, I could never make a living from online engagement... I don't know how to think my thoughts in posts. But I will keep popping up. Here's a lantern I'm crocheting. 🧶
