I haven’t puked these colours, but I sure don’t like them. The lilac is OK, but it’s not my fav shade. 😒
Book 27 of 2026 is the third one in Roddy Doyle’s Paula Spencer Series: The Women Behind the Door. I read Paula Spencer in two days. His other books in this series are excellent, and I suspect this will be too. Doyle writes women exquisitely—and with dazzling humour. #BookSky
Book 26 of 2026 is by one of my favourite authors, Roddy Doyle, whose unique style of writing is terrific. It’s been ages since I read the first Paula Spencer novel, The Woman Who Walked Into Doors, so I finally picked up Paula Spencer. I read 80 pages since yesterday and it’s a poignant read.
We also went to De Stiil on Duluth. It’s a charming English bookstore that offers an excellent selection of literary fiction. #bookstores
Heaven is discovering new bookstores! ❤️📚 #joiedeslivres #bookstores #montrealbookstore
One of the best finds in Montreal last weekend was Joie des Livres bookstore on Saint-Laurent. It’s dedicated to fantasy, science fiction, horror, and romance, and it has a great bar with coffee and alcohol, and delicious treats! They host many community events there. I wish we had one in Kingston!
Jen and I went to a super fun drag show at Club Mado on Saturday night in Montreal! Gisèle Lullaby, winner of Canada’s Drag Race, was the headliner. #dragqueensrock
These are just some of the incredible sculptures in wood and marble that I saw in the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal this past weekend.
Montreal’s Notre-Dame Basilica was designed by a Protestant architect. James O’Donnell, an Irish immigrant living in NYC, created the Basilica’s iconic Gothic Revival look in the 1820s. Its soaring blue & gold ceiling, intricate carvings & 7000-pipe Casavant organ make it a breathtaking sacred space
Our weekend in Montreal was fantastic! There was so much going on, the weather was great, the food delicious, and the friendship, as always, is soul-filling. We saw the Notre Dame Basilica, Old Montreal, did a Hop On Hop Off tour of the city, and went to a terrific drag show! More photos to come! 😁
On the road for a long weekend in Montreal with my bestie! I don’t know the city, so I’m looking forward to seeing some sights! 😁 Have a great weekend!
It’s very civil over on @gandersocial.ca, so if you’re looking for a social media site to replace the one you’re currently despising, check it out. 🇨🇦
#ArtfestKingston is always one of the best events of the summer. Today, I went with my niece & bought this wonderful Dali-esque #surreal print from artist Alyn Stirk—a very nice man. I also bought a Blind Date with a Book—the coolest idea ever! Don’t know what book I got as I don’t want to open it❣️
Book 25 of 2026 is Rivals by Jilly Cooper—Dame Jilly Cooper—on which the new runaway TV series hit on Disney+ (now in its second season) is based. And I LOVE it! Set in 1987 (one of my best years), it’s so much fun that it’s sinful. So this book seems like the perfect summer read. #BookSky
I love my new Sterling silver spinner ring with an aquamarine stone that I bought on Etsy recently. It was made by 925SilverLegacy and I got it for 75% off! It’s worth checking out their shop if you’re looking for beautiful rings! www.etsy.com/ca/shop/925S...
I love summer in Ontario because I get out more often to visit friends from out of town. Today, I met with my client/friend, Abby, who is the director of four women’s choirs (AbZolutely Choir). She’s a super talented, beautiful human being, and she treated me to a delicious lunch at Chez Piggy! ❤️
I’m so proud of my niece, Erika (and her bro). She just received a $15K scholarship from Queen’s University toward the 2nd yr of her Master’s Degree in Biology! We were out tonight for dinner to celebrate Father’s Day and Erika & Ethan’s 24th birthday next Friday. They’ve grown up so fast! ❤️🎉
Book 24 of 2026 is The Bewitching by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. “Three women in different eras encounter dangerous witchcraft in this eerie multigenerational horror saga from the New York Times bestselling author of Mexican Gothic.” #BookSky📚
Eloise is enjoying cottage life and hanging out on the porch after swimming and rolling on the ground as much as possible. She loves being a dirty girl.
I’m on vacation this week at my BFF’s cottage. We arrived yesterday afternoon and enjoyed some time on the porch talking, listening to music, and having drinks before and after dinner. Today, we’ve had a whopper of a thunderstorm. But at least I cleaned the porch before it hit. #cottagelife
Book 23 of 2026 is The Ghost Woods by the fabulous @cjcookebooks.bsky.social, who has quickly become one of my favourite authors. “Mixes the darkness of reality with a magical realism that will have you gripped.” ~ Woman & Home
On #BestFriendsDay, I’m thrilled to say that my BFF (who lives in Saskatoon) is arriving today for a two-month stay in the region. We’ve known each other since we were 12. Eloise & I are off to her beautiful cottage on Big Rideau Lake in Portland, ON, for the week as of tomorrow! Time for a vacay!
Are any of my Canadian Bluesky friends on Gander? If you are, I’m @bodaciouscopy.gander.social and would love to follow and support you there! 🇨🇦
Book 22 of 2026: Long Island by Irish author Colm Toibin is a spectacularly moving and intense drama of secrecy, misunderstanding, and love – the story of Eilis Lacey, the complex and enigmatic character from his most beloved novel, Brooklyn, which I loved. He’s a brilliant writer.
On #NationalCheeseDay, my cheese of choice is Danish Blue, on pumpernickel with fresh cherry tomatoes for an exquisite taste explosion! What’s your favourite cheese and what do you like to pair it with?
Isn’t she beautiful? 😍 The 1958 Chevrolet Biscayne in Tiffany blue. I love a Classic car.

Book 21 of 2026 is one I’ve had on my shelves for years. I’ve read several of the novellas inside, but not everything, so after the emotional conclusion of the TV series #Outlander, I feel the need to read this one cover to cover. Seven Stones to Stand or Fall by my favourite author, Diana Gabaldon.
Any other #Outlander fans out there? I just watched the series finale… OMG! 🥹 I sure hope there’s a movie or limited series coming after Diana Gabaldon publishes Book 10! If you saw it, what are your thoughts? ❤️
