I was looking at zubat after all these fucking years and just suddenly connected that it's a fucking BROADCAST SYMBOL
Wow this blew up, and a lot of people reposting don't even know that he's even more famous for creating Gegege no Kitaro, which is still kind of like the most "sacred" manga and anime series to Japan. The little eyeball is kitaro's father. He takes baths in teacups.
I finally saw this. It might one of the most beautiful epic fantasy films of my lifetime. It's the kind of film Laika wishes they could make, but laika honestly falls completely short and never feels as sincere to me.
I will say several of the newest ones are more creative than the first batch and would even be standout pokemon though, like fish that's a sword, and this faceless toxic plant guy is now probably the single best design in the whole dex
The other issue is that almost every pal is designed for a very safe, broad appeal. Few are just weird and quirky without also being formulaically "cute." None are as divisive to its fandom as bruxish, or as ruggedly bizarre as weezing, or as "wtf IS that" as a shuckle
Repairing this halloween vulture with foam clay, does anyone know what color paint I need to match the original??
wendys limited time biggie blasted flugbwurntch with extra gloonx !!!
This same user asked me why I'm apparently following someone here on bluesky "on behalf" of someone else and I have absolutely no idea which of you would be an ex friend of anybody else I know. Nobody talks to me about personal drama like that.
Just had a tumblr user furiously confront me because someone I know has reblogged from someone else, who I don't know and has me on block anyway, who in turn has had rancid opinions. When I explained how that has little to do with me I got my first physical THREAT in all my tumblr years???
I suddenly wondered if there was current official art of mario riding yoshi and I am. Repulsed.
Dont know how unpopular an opinion this will be but modern yoshi grosses me out. I hate the huge perfect sphere for an upper jaw. It's made worse by the loss of his neck and the development of near-human hands. Awful.
Hey am I alone in having thought Babidi dbz looked enough like a flea that it may have been intentional? Like the instant I saw him as a kid I thought "aw cool a flea guy!!!"
Creature concept that doesn't fit the rules of any of my current settings: mutant fly head that springs around on its proboscis, leaving puddles of acid (platform game enemy?)
One tumblr user told me they were angry that gangle expressed any sadness at all about what happened to "her abuser" because that's not how the user would react. Okay? Like...that's not you, not a template for you to project onto. That's a character with their own fictional personality.
This was great!! I remember it taking me a while to notice the other souldrinker in the background of its art, which gives a better idea of its shape!
Finally the other "secret" fighter, a cute little germ or mushroom (couldn't decide) symbolically representing an entire zombie plague. Its moves all just conjure up zombies to perform the attacks, and the zombies are what take damage until it runs out of corpses.
Next to last is what I imagine would be one of two "secret" characters. A vintage style Halloween spirit with a whole entourage of goofy harvest goblins. Maybe they'd even look like antique cardboard cut-outs "in game?" They're extremely dangerous and they eat people.
The last "main roster" one would be a fighter duo of a B-movie "Bug Eyed Monster" and a "Scream Queen," who would both be in black & white. I don't know their story, maybe they're just "brought to life" from an in-universe movie.
"Evil Clown" character I tried to give an edgy 90's comic book style, but she's also a grim reaper (on account of all those scythe-carrying clowns in video games), a rag doll and a child's bogeyman. That child was eaten by some other monster, so now she goes around devouring monster souls.
"Alien" character inhabits a crude 50's suburban mom disguise (that floats around like a doll being played with)
"Witch" fighter is actually all of a dead witch's imp familiars still carrying on her legacy
The "mummy" character is a nurse who carries a mummy's curse of plague/pestilence
the ghost of the roster is specifically the ghost of a mermaid whose flesh was eaten by a ship's crew, and can't rest until all their descendants are dead, but it was long enough ago that this is now millions of people. (Maybe it was the Mayflower or something)
Punk rock vampire whose coffin is both a gigantic boom box and a weapon. This one feels the most derivative, I could probably come up with something more original for the obligatory vampire if I thought about it harder
Zoot Suit werewolf who acts like a Tex Avery wolf. I figure his animations would morph between wolf and human body parts in zany rubbery cartoon ways.
