I’d wondered this too. I like the little fruity ones as well as the chocolate ones and I have lovely news for you: little round guys. They’re not quite as good but a load cheaper. Aldi.

It’s Mummy Bookworm here. I was just thinking of my ten years in publishing and writing and related and thinking what an absolute rollercoaster it’s been as a creative. BUT ALSO it’s been great to fall on my arse & mostly fail so many times with you lot & so many brilliant folks. Love love love you
My new teaching platform launches next year. I’ve always felt I didn’t fit in with any publishing/writing ecosystem. I’m prolifically published, a floating academic, secondary English & Creative Writing teacher & I’ve had a tough life too. So I figured: be a badass and make your own ecosystem!
Prior to a new newsletter and building my teaching platform, if you scoot over to see me @bookwormvaught6 on Insta, there are plenty of writing and publishing reels, generally irreverent. Also cats, opinions, I’m always political, also cake, flowers and lipstick
This contains the F word. Apols. It’s about a single dress at this year’s Met Gala & what you could do with the money. Just one example - taken from some of the work I’m currently doing. And I say three undergraduate students but we might be able to fund and support three, place & course dependent
‘I can’t imagine how you feel.’ Maybe try? It’s meant well but doesn’t help x
So 90k. I already had a good deal of the book but I’m doing a career pivot and shifting from straight literary to upmarket. Things to learn; new skills. And I thought…how when I wrote The End I really wanted someone to be there saying Well Done. It’s a craving for it now - there’s honest. 2 things
Launches 16th April 2027 Loads more news later in the year The Alchemy - a brand new teaching platform x
I was later lucky enough to see him again in Henry IV parts i and ii and it was a joy. These are two of my favorite Shakespeare plays. Anyway Doran’s book is a beautiful one; it’s not only about Shakespeare, but watching him track down folios was fascinating. (My own pic; BL)
If you’re discussing Shakespeare today, I have Gregory Doran’s new book, and while my favourite Shakespeare play remains The Winter’sTale, it was seeing Anthony Sher in The Merchant of Venice that lit a fire under me - I was very young but felt it, if that makes sense.
Book at bedtime from Sheena Kalayil @flyonthewallpress.bsky.social
The story is explored in my 2020 magical realist novel, #savinglucia and later finds its way into my doctoral thesis - open access here. ray.yorksj.ac.uk/id/eprint/11...

Thoughts. My new novel, Marjorie’s Day Out - upmarket fiction in a shift away from my usual literary - is on agency submission at the moment. We believe it to be an important book; an unearthing of many things. All roads back and forth converge on Marjorie Taylor, who has legitimate concerns
