Greenhouse rework v3.0 Not much change. Redid all of the mylar to bring it all the way down, plumbed the humidifier so it pumps the wet air from the top to cascade to the lower plants, vent fan rework, and a rewiring to the whole electrical system to prevent electrical fires.
Finally built a ping rock! Used a bunch of the babies I just got from california carnivores and the plant show this weekend! Few pings, drocera, utricularia, and sphagnum
Three new carnivorous plants have hit the greenhouse! A heliamphora Utricilaria Longifolia And a new Nepenthes! The san diego carnivorous plant society sale is this weekend, so if yall wanna nab some and are local to the socal area, tomorrow is the last day! Tons of beautiful plants!
Potted up my phal into an old sugar pine pinecone I got from the sequoias back in 2020. Gonna give her a few weeks to get situated and grow attached to the wood. Working on a 3d printed stand/reservoir for it so she can sit a little more displayed
Sarracenia flower updateeeee!!! 🥰🥰🥰 shes open and bloomed! Now to collect some pollen so @zanezane.bsky.social and I can make our babies have babies
Sarracenia flower update! Shes gettin so tall! Almost up to the height of our newest pitcher who is coming into her colors so beautifully
Sarracenia updateeee!!! One of them is flowering which im so insanely excited for! They have such alienesque looking flowers!
Made the classic. Chicken sandwich, with fried tomatoes, and sauteed spinach w/ peppers
Garden update! Some things growing better than others, but most things generally on the up and up. The broccoli has been killed yet again, when a worm infestation destroyed all its leaves. She has since recovered and begun new leaves. Im convinced she’s invincible since this is her 7th death.
This being my first time really growing flowers, they always die so hard and look like hell like a week after they bloom, then they continually come back over the next few weeks. These alien-esque yellow-purple earlybirds especially. Yet here we are, second blooming of them, and 4th for the others
Greenhouse got a rework this weekend! Replaced plastic with mylar and added up a second set of lights. Shes also got a few new residents! 3 pings and a few pygmy drocera. Theyll probably live here until I go to build another carno plant terrarium for them to live in
Carnivorous plant fertilizer looks a lot like something else when diluted :)
Got the light hooked up for the carno terrarium! Not its final evolution, but its a start!
Finally got the carnivorous plant terrarium together! Seeing representation from 4 different types of plants! Nepenthes on the left, utricularia in the middle, sarracenia on the right, and a vft in the front. Letting the plants settle into their new home and getting comfortable.
This carnivorous plant addiction is gettin crazy. Welcome home my first sarracenias 🥰
My new drocera caught a big ass house fly the other day and im so proud of her! Its been interesting to watch her slowly dissolve such a big bug
Hello arugula and lettuce, feat two seedlings that are distinctly not arugula or lettuce. You know were gonna let them do as they please til I can maybe identify them
All my lettuces and arugula are coming up! Theyre such cute little guys 🥰
Sweets are absolutely the way to Hailey’s heart Thank you for such a cute piece of my gal! ❤️ 🎨 @cotic.bsky.social
Loaded up the greenhouse with a bunch of new seeds! All sorts of stuff to see what comes up!
Did some house/cat sitting for a few days and came back to these guys working their way up up and away. Definitely think the issue with the first pepper starts was sure the soil medium and light issues
Inside the greenhouse, the loofah has grown well as has the cilantro and fennel, though they need to be repotted. Were also running an experiment on the pepper seeds we started earlier this year. Our first set, sprouted and set their second set of leaves, but have degraded and are mostly dying-
Garden update! The san marzano tomato plant is huge gigantic happy and sprouting its first fruiting buds. The long planter has become plentiful, nasturtium is flowering beautifuly, the feverfew is budding, and out cucumbers are producing their first flowers. The serranos are also nearing harvest!
Ive been wanting to cook again lately. So I did! Pan seared salmon, cous cous, haricot verts, and dehydrated tomatoes.
Woah woah woah woah woah woah! I hath finally harvested my potatoes and was blessed with these little gentlemen. Also feat. This little caterpillar thats cocooned against the inside of the pot!
