The pH of human stomach acid is 1.5-2, similar to carnivores & scavengers, specifically to destroy harmful bacteria, fungus, most parasites etc. In herbivores, its much higher. ...And yet, the combined vote of Reform & Restore *increased by 6,000* over 2024, despite all those exposes...😒 Reform really weren't that interested in winning against Burnham, his victory makes a General Election (which they desperately want & need) more likely. They want the Mayoralty...
What this needs to tell Labour MPs & Party members is that "Andy Burnham is Reform's preferred candidate, & they see him as their best chance of an early General Election, & their only hope to become the Government". So *don't play their game*. #LabourIsWorking. Let Starmer deliver the Manifesto.

3/...errr...2🤣 So what, exactly, is Andy Burnham promising here that is *in any way* different to what Starmer *is already delivering*? It just looks like a summary of the policies Starmer is already delivering (even the "Brexit was damaging & we need to realign but not rejoin")
All good points, Maria. The Blair years did make a lot of improvements. Wales has gradually changed from an area totally dependent on Mining & Steel with a little farming & tourism into an area with a lot of diverse employment (3.5% unemployment vs 4.9% UK). There were failures along the way.
#InconvenientFacts Burnham's speech: He complains of changes over last 40yrs. Mines closed *because Thatcher ended subsidies* & heavy/manufacturing industry *because others did it cheaper*. It was a seismic shift & cut millions of jobs in old sectors, *replaced by new ones*. Can't be changed now 1/2

#InconvenientTruth Starmer would beat every other leadership candidate in Parliament because *he's the best person for the job*. Leadership votes are on the "1st, 2nd, 3rd preference" basis & Starmer would beat both Rayner & Miliband on that. Streeting is nowhere. Burnham is only there as fantasy🙄

All Council seats now counted. Despite media hysteria, Labour defended 2,196 seats *& ended up winning 1,068*. Thats 267 more than Tories won, 224 more than LibDems, 419 more than Greens. Its *not that bad*🙄 Only a small part of England voted. You can't extrapolate it to a 2029 General Election.
That was the procedure put in place by Boris Johnson. Confirmed by ex-Cabinet Secretary. Its now been changed & made more sensible by Starmer, as soon as he became aware of it.

Not as grim as you suggest, perhaps. Labour (who you claim "aren't listening to voters") have already delivered (or on target for) 63 of 96 of their Election Pledges - so everyone who voted for them is getting what they voted for very quickly, & that benefits everyone except the very wealthy.
Best choice is to #VoteLabour. It's a Labour seat, & they have already delivered (or are on course for) 63 of their 92 Election pledges from 2024. We waited 14yrs for a Labour Government to put People & Services first. It's already starting to happen. Give Labour a chance & judge them after 5yrs.
Here's my prediction, along with the working I used, & Labour's doorstep polling after knocking on a quarter of the doors across all wards: Its very close to the best forecast I've seen too (& no, I don't mean the latest nonsense based on 401 voters, self-selecting, 335 of whom say they'll vote🙄)

He is no longer a *Labour* peer, just an unaffiliated one - but he has been on "Leave of absence" from the Lords since being recalled as ambassador, so not able to attend or vote (& must give 3 months notice to rescind that absence).

Andrew Griffith at #PMQs (for Badenoch) misleads Parliament, saying it now costs employers £3,600(/yr) extra to employ a 21yr old. The actual figure (minimum wage) is £1,600, or less for small businesses with Employer Allowance. Its just a 10.5% rise. Or they could employ 18yr olds for even less!
