Even Claude understands the Bible better than JD Vance

The Hebrew Bible returns to this theme with unusual insistence:

Leviticus 19:33-34 commands treating the ger (foreigner/sojourner) as a native-born citizen, "for you were foreigners in Egypt."
Deuteronomy 10:19 tells Israel to love the foreigner, again grounding it in their own experience of displacement.
Exodus 22:21 and 23:9 repeat the prohibition on wronging or oppressing foreigners.

The Gospels sharpen rather than soften this:

Matthew 25:35, 40 — "I was a stranger and you welcomed me... whatever you did for the least of these, you did for me" — is arguably the single most direct text on the subject, and it offers no exemption for economic competition or wage impact.
The Good Samaritan (Luke 10) is structured specifically to demolish in-group/out-group reasoning about who counts as "neighbor."
Hebrews 13:2 urges hospitality to strangers "for some have entertained angels unawares."

Hokit’s post-fight interview suggests that he knows his audience. “I’m the man with the plan, the beast that’s ready to feast,” Hokit began before abruptly changing course. “You know what? Fuck the speech.”

From there, the heavyweight delivered a stream-of-consciousness monologue that touched on politics, religion and future opponents in the span of less than a minute.

“Shout out to Trump for having the balls to put something like this on,” Hokit said. “And if I’m going to say anything, there’s only one person more incredible than the Incredible Hulk, and that’s my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

He then turned his attention to former UFC champion Alex Pereira.

“Now listen: Alex Pereira, I want a chama on your mama.”

And just when it seemed the interview had exhausted its supply of non sequiturs, Hokit signed off with one final declaration:

“And lastly: Michelle Obama is a man.”
