Posted this to my Instagram stories. All the gwrlies were like "YASSS! YES THEY ARE!". All the boys were silent.
Boss went to a book buy earlier this afternoon. Came back with a verified John Wayne Gacy painting. I told him we can't put it up in the store because it's cursed.
I'm not a tankie but I did find this funny in an I'm-always-kind-of-scared-for-my-life-nowadays sort of way (lmfao)
Also, I beat Pokemon Lazarus with my all-vibes-no-type-coverage team and it was hard. Probably won't do that again for a while. Trying to get three Dusk Stones for these divas was quite the grind.
I was snooping on a regular customer's twitter when I accidentally ran across a tweet that's literally about me.
Intrigued enough for $1.75, but prepared to be disgusted.
Created a Pokemon team based solely on vibes and now I'm kinda getting my shit rocked. #PokemonLazarus
My boyfriend's at Dog Weekend (Anthro Ohio) and I'm working 7 days in a row because everyone else took memorial day weekend off. To say I'm jealous is an understatement, but I'm glad he's having a good time.
Oh btw I'm starting a queer horror/suspense bookclub at the store starting May 24th. More info at Clintonvillebooks.com
Hell Columbus! I've logged in to let you know I that tickets are on sale now for Plot Twist, our sober burlesque revue at Clintonville Books, on April 4th (that is my birthday, btw, please buy a ticket or I'll cry) 💖💖💖
Still got a fair amount of tickets to sell before Saturday, so if you're free, come have some fun at the bookstore, and support Columbus, Ohio's foremost sober drag show!
Plot Twist! Coming up again, Saturday, December 6th at Clintonville Books. Take a break from the holiday doldrums to see a little show. Tickets on sale now. #Columbus #Ohio #burlesque #sober
For an infamous as the movie adaptation is for being violent and gorey, the book is kind of a slowburn. Straight guy horror: what if I was dishonest to a hot young girl and she tortured me for it.
There is a style of writing that I don't really have a name for. It's like whimsical but sinister, and unserious at face value while talking about a dire set of circumstances. Reminds me a lot of old Kelly Link. Anyway, I'm loving this book! The writing is superb.
Halfway through: it's one of the best haunted house novels I've read in years, and probably the best Rachel Harrison book since Such Sharp Teeth. I'm REALLY enjoying it. #booksky
Been engaging with a lot of feel-bad queer fiction lately, so this has been a welcomed change of pace... so far anyway! This could still go off the rails before the end!
I'll be interested to see what the others have to say about this elimination because Brigiding was looking pretty displeased in the background as Madame Yoko's elimination was being announced. (Although maybe that's just her beat)
Omg this is going to be a big show. Emily Rath in conversation with @biancaprobably.bsky.social at Clintonville Books, Columbus OH on September 3rd at 6:00pm!
This is a test: if I refer to Plot Twist!, the show I'm producing for Clintonville Books in Columbus OH on August 9th, as "a BBQ for the senses and a menagerie of earthly delights", will this post get flagged?
Columbus! We are a month away from PLOT TWIST! the sober, afterhours burlesque show I'm producing for Clintonville Books. It is an INCREDIBLE cast, I know this show will sell out. I would love to see you there. Get your tickets now at Clintonville Books Dot Com.
America who? I'm off to Pittsburgh to hang out with a bunch of furries.
This is so much fun, but as it is about gay men in the 80s I know that it's going to destroy me.
This is your sign to check in on your geriatric millennial gays who are still obsessed with twinks. #booksky
I almost didn't read this because I hate the title, I think it's very cumbersome and belies the seriousness of the subject matter, but the story is fabulous! We've got a serial killer, AND ghosts, AND crime scene cleanup, AND religious trauma, AND #booksky
