Whoever it was at Bose who designed the power adaptor for the SoundDock should be shot. 1. It's upside down. 2. The 'clever' design that means you can tidily wrap the lead around the adaptor for neat storage means any double socket it's plugged into becomes a single socket. Faux pas.
During lockdown in 2020 I discovered the X-Wing Alliance Upgrade and got quite far into the game. Recently I went back to it but had lost my progress so had to start again. There is a new upgrade for 2025, however, which I can now enjoy fully! The PS3 controller over Bluetooth is great for this.

I loved Quake when it came out, but my 486DX4/120 did not. So when Duke Nukem 3D appeared and it ran brilliantly on my 486, I was very happy indeed. Quake may have been superior technologically, but Duke 3D was the better game for multiple reasons. Can't believe both are 30 years old.
RIP Robert Prince, credited on 71 games, most of them forming the soundtrack to my early teens. Absolute legend.

This is the CD release and everything appears to be included in the box, all of it in incredible condition! Cost £5.45 plus shipping.
I have reached hole 5000 and improved again to 2.38. Turns out some holes are literally impossible. You can skip them after playing 25 shots.
5/ Can confirm the printhead looks a bit gnarled. Might be able to clean it up but it's probably the reason it was discarded. The HP parts website is currently down. At this moment. When I want to check an HP part. For the first time. Of course. Apparently I need 4S6Z3A, I don't think it's cheap
4/ It powers on. There is a printhead problem. There is ink in each of the cartridges, it seems.
3/ At first glance, I assumed this was a compact laser printer. Sad times: it's not. It's an OfficeJet Pro 9120b. At this point the thread is dead. There's no way I'm forking out for ink for this thing. My existing HP DeskJet is bad enough. Though the automatic document feeder has an appeal...
2/ The ADF looks to be in good condition - no blockages or dust. The scanning platen is also in perfect condition. Externally the unit is a little dusty and may have been gently rained on.
1/ I've found some cool tech shit on the streets over the years but this is the first time I've found a fucking MFP. Join me while I check out whether it was worth rescuing.
Just reached hole 4000 and my shot average has improved to 2.406. Some holes are straight-up impossible, which suggests I'm missing something. There is a menu hiding in the top right, including a 'restart' option, which I'm terrified to press. Restart hole or restart game?? 😅
Two phrases that would never be in the same sentence are "Dell Optiplex" and "Gaming PC". Also this person obviously doesn't understand what a sleeper is - the contents are stock and unsurprising.

A few days later... I've ordered the wrong ones. Seems I was optimistic about these things actually existing somewhere.
I found the fucking things on Mouser, I don't know what I did wrong before. At least I hope I found them. As ever, paying 50% of the total cost for shipping is a large oof, but it means I can replace the linear faders.
Actually, after cleaning, readings are stable and within tolerance. There is a copper track under the carbon. The carbon itself augments this, providing smoothness without affecting conductivity. I love learning shit this way.
I'm not sure that can be fixed. I guess I'll see which ones are the better ones and keep those. I don't need all 5 channels.
Looks like I'm going to be fixing these up instead of acquiring new ones. They are 10k logarithmic slide potentiometers with travel of 45mm, 60mm chassis, 3 pins total. Hopefully some IPA will clean up the track.
