The finished knee patch. It's not beautiful, but it's patched! I also seem to have plenty of clothes with holes in them that I can keep practicing on.

Today I went to a workshop on Sashiko visible mending and it was so fun. I tried some simple free-form stitching on the hole in these jeans. More to do, but I'm kind of getting the hang of it.

A Facebook post from Hollywood's Golden Images includes stills from the movie When Harry Met Sally, with this description of the film: Rob Reiner’s When Harry Met Sally (1989) is a haunting comedy set in New York, where two friends wrestle with love’s pull. Billy Crystal plays Harry, a wry cynic, murmuring “I’m talking” in a diner’s buzzing hum. Reiner’s cinematography, via Barry Sonnenfeld, bathes the city in a warm gold-gray glow, with leafy parks and bloody hearts. Harry Connick Jr.’s jazzy score hums with sorrow. Meg Ryan’s Sally, a dreamer with a bright nod, contrasts Bruno Kirby’s Jess, a pal whose calm grin masks ease. He quips “I’m pairing” in a loft’s hum. Actually worked on some scrappy quilt blocks today--mostly ironing, but I'm going to count it. It's nice to finally play with fabric again! #quiltsky

Four quilt blocks are laid out in a square pattern. Each block consists of a large black square, a small black square, and two sets of colorful fabric scraps, five pieces per set. Some scrap designs include butterflies, ladybugs, snowflakes, cats, cows, polka dots, and Nebraska Huskers.

Love Tula Pink! I recently used some of this in a scrappy quilt, and it was my favorite part of the whole quilt.

Hello, Bluesky -- I edit nonfiction (primarily textbooks), make quilts (very slowly, over long periods of time--Happy National Quilting Day!), and have a 16-year-old cat who is still as elegant as all get out.
