It's YOUR fault, and not the companies that produce 8 billion tons of plastic a month that the environment is collapsing, just like it's YOUR fault for buying coffee and not being able to afford rent.
What happened in Biddeford, Maine this morning is yet another reminder that ICE's purpose is to kill and intimidate us, and that is needs to be abolished ASAP. But I also want to point out what this line about the victim having a "Final order of deportation means," because it's bullshit. 1/
🗃️ In Genoa a couple years ago I saw this sculpture by Bruno Catalano, which says much more about what it means to be Genoese, or "Italian" than the fake outrage of Chris Rufo and the never-ending saga of Christopher Columbus apologism. 1/
Greatest city in the world and "I've lived here a couple years but I just work and go home" makes me all kinds of sad.
For reference, here is what was cut in 2023 because WVU was facing a dangerous budget shortfall. One of their solutions to this problem is the program that this ONE kid was into.
I tried to tell him! He couldn’t even admit he got the tattoo because he was a piece of shit at the time! He never expressed remorse for anything he did!
Love to see "Manichaean" make an appearance here. Which, is always a word that Brooks, Bret Stephens and their ilk use to try and make themselves seem smarter as if Zoroastrian theological terminology gives your bullshit argument more legitimacy than if you just said "black and white."
"They say free healthcare for all! But the people have spoken and what they really want is the choice to pick WHICH inadequate but still expensive healthcare plan screws them over!"
Also this is just the dumbest shit. I've been in union halls and faculty lounges and they sound pretty damn similar. Just because everyone turns their back on David Brooks and Samuel Moyn when they enter the room doesn't mean they're different.
Ah yes, the "Movement to deny that a Nazi tattoo is problematic and not apologizing for rape," it is very important that we not tear this down just because the candidate behind it turned out the be a total POS.
They're speaking up NOW because they finally see an avenue to speak up and have people listen. Because we never do. Silencing women is so normalized that it's engrained in the way they speak to close confidants. It doesn't need to be this way. It shouldn't be this way.
I feel… vindicated. I wish I didn’t! I wish I had been wrong and that he didn’t suck ass! But vindicated, nonetheless.
🗃️ Military chud's fascination with "strategically brilliant" men will never stop frustrating me. It doesn't matter how great of tacticians Lee or Napoleon were, they lost the fucking war they fought because they stupidly took on an enemy they couldn't beat. 1/
Like with the Cesar Chavez news that came out a few months ago: women should never have to weigh options like this. Society as a whole needs to change this. Of course, Collins is fucking awful, and I hope the ME Democrats can get their shit together fast enough to run someone against her.
I'm still salty about Spain doing "999 passes and 1-0 score lines" all the way to the trophy 16 years ago, but I also hate Cristiano Ronaldo, so I guess they get my fanfare for today.
Man everyone who regularly contributes to the Atlantic is so uncool.
Out on the town having the time of my life, winning, with a bunch of centrist Democrats. They're all just out of frame, laughing too.
Curtain business on the other side of Manhattan really concerned about a bike lane.
Damn, "Upholstery draperies skip covers wall upholstery" has us all figured out. I guess it's time to wrap it up... big cycling lobby. We've been caught red-handed. #urbanism
