When you turn your range hood on while cooking you expect to remove pollution BUT when it’s wildfire hazard smoke out, you get MORE polluted.
Who else has their IAQ healthy air metrics reminder on their fridge?
$16 to power my home and the majority of my travel last month with car charging on solar in an all electric home! We can have it if we want it!
Last week we reached net zero for home and vehicle! Last most month total energy cost was $58!
Just a year ago when I learned Amazon cancelled the Wheel of Time after 3 seasons I was so angry. “ Blood and Ashes!” I decided to commit to the entire series of over a dozen books and 10,000 pages! I’m hooked! “ The wheel weaves as the wheel wills”
Cooked some grilled cheese and got wildfire level smoke. Thank god for hoodrange, window, bathfan, ERV, MERV 16 filters. A whole team effort.
Happy Heat Pump Water Heater Day. Can you see what happened when my system switched to electric resistance for awhile?
As much as I love my heat pump today I let the sun + condensing dryer + stove / oven + dehumidifier get me back up to a comfortable temp! Only one more day and it is back into the heat!
Michigan City, IN is launching a new sustainable series and I am grateful @greenhomeinstitute.bsky.social member Larry here invited me to be a first speaker! Got to talk to the Mayor, some city council members and interested community members. Also introduced IRA homes funds in IN!
Out on site filming a new home being built in GR MI. Home was being powered by electric truck while being built. Home is designed to run on solar to handle it and 2 EVs. It’s all electric. Built to resist heat waves, cold, poor air quality, wind storms and earth quakes. Stay tuned for video tour!
Watched the Canadian wildfire smoke blow in last night. Tasted the metal. 😳
Earth week is a great time to get a full net zero day for the first time this year. I’m all electric and this includes some car charging ( though not much that day )
Happy Renewable Energy Day y’all! I ran all energy entirely off renewables from 11 am to 8:40 pm. We can have it if we want it!
Today is a perfect example of why we need a battery with solar. To stay off peak. My solar was kickin and boom. It’s drops due to cloud coverage but then my battery picked up the slack and wound down right as my peak time of 7 pm ended. We can scale this concept to the entire grid as well.
Alert West Michigan! Stay inside. Dangerous air quality Greatful EPA kept this app running still. www.airnow.gov
Celebrating 4 years today of being all electric and going solar. 3.96 kW South facing Panasonic system. Looking now to get my roof redone this year and add more on the east and west side! Over 18 Megewatt hours generated. Currently as I post this home is running on all solar!
