Brighton RNLI has responded to several shouts along the city’s coastline in recent days. This included a launch to #Brighton Palace Pier, as well as searches offshore & along the coast following reports of vessels in difficulty, a possible person in the water, and a red flare sighted near the i360.
🚨 Our volunteer crew launched last night following reports of a red flare off Brighton’s seafront. After a full search, no person or vessel in difficulty was found and a flare casing was later located on the beach. Flares should only ever be used in a genuine emergency.
⚠️ Weather warnings in place as Storm Chandra brings strong winds and heavy rain to the south coast. Sea conditions can change fast. Stay back from the water’s edge and avoid piers and harbour walls. In an emergency, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
