@democrats.org You should be buying daily ad time for the @250to250.bsky.social videos by @hcrichardson.bsky.social Put them on every broadcast station in prime time and all the streaming services. Yes, it’s a big block of ad time, but you get to underwrite and promote an amazing series.
I’ve been clearing some tall grass from a rocky area where the prior owner took down a tree an hidden in the grass I found a raging battle of mint vs. oregano. I thought the whole thing was weeds until now. 🌱
Maggie dog has two couch modes: expanding and contracting. #dogsofbluesky
The sun is still hitting the trees in our neighborhood 20:30 June 21, Olympia WA. I love this time of year.
The first fruit set this year. Given how cool our nights have been, I’m pretty impressed there’s a tomato there at all. 🌱
After a third massive weeding session all the giant growth of weeds are out. I’ll have to do it again in a week or so to get some I missed. For now, this was enough. 🌱
More pruning activity. I know it’s the wrong season, and I know I probably took off more than I should, but this poor Japanese Maple hasn’t been pruned properly since we bought the house 12 years ago and I couldn’t stand it any longer. 🌱
When we bought those in 2014 my mother moved in with us and started planting things. Her favorites were lilacs and various bulbs. I’ve tried to keep up the tradition since she passed in 2018. We call it Gladys garden. No gladiolus and only a couple of iris so far this year. 🌱
Doing some weeding in a stretch of grass that has t been weeded in over 3 years. It’s brutal and there will be little left but dirt in the end in some areas. However, I’m going to throw down some mint and clover seeds and encourage them. If we end up mowing mint all summer that is not a bad thing. 🌱
My mischievous chi/poodle/dachshund mix has twice now dug up the carrot and pea seeds I’ve planted despite my trying to make the raised beds inaccessible. I may strangle her if she does it again. (I will do no such thing, I just have to vent.) She’s too cute for her own good.
@darthbluesky.bsky.social I thought you might enjoy this, I have a heather plant in my backyard and when I went out there the other day I found it flattened, branches broken and askew, and generally looking poorly. How on earth? Mystery solved: my husky mix is using it as a bed to escape her sister
If you haven’t seen the suit Afroman wore to his trial being sued for defamation ( which he righteously won) pleas check it out.
#internationalpuppyday Maggie we got at an approximate 1yo, Tira we got as a 4 mo old.
I gave my husky mix a shower a few days ago because she rolled in fresh poop when she was out with the dog walker. Three days later I am still finding fur in the shower drain grate. #UglyDogs
Maggie dog and her best friend Eddie in the snow at Squaxin Park. #Uglydogs
My dogs did that one year. The voles and pocket gophers had mostly left our yard alone in the years prior, but that year they started colonizing the front yard.
A day early is so much better than a day late. We’ve been in both situations and learned from the first that was almost literally just a day too long. Our 2nd, Martha, got to spend a day outside in April sunshine while we waited for the vet and she was so relaxed.
Maggie has been licking two hot spots on her elbows, so in addition to the medicine we apply, I bought her a pair of sleeves to cover them up. She has been so cooperative about putting them on and wearing them. And she looks quite handsome as well.
As I fear for my sanity today reading the latest Venezuela news, I bring you this pic of Maggie from last night when she was intent on showing that her tail was as long as her body. #uglydogs
We had good luck with a harness that had a ring at the front, not using the one on the back. Maggie was much less intent on pulling, and when she did it didn’t have the same intensity. Maggie is half husky and part border collie, so her squirrel and rabbit instincts are unquenchable.
Maggie and Tiramisu wish Milo a Happy Hanukkah and solstice as well as Christmas week.
Here are Tira and Maggie having a rest after digging a hole in the front yard.
Here’s where to vote today if you live in WA (USPS says they can’t guarantee 8pm postmark):
Our 1/2 husky has a head smaller than her neck. There is no collar that will permanently stay on. The last time she and her partner went walkabout we found the collar on the ground. Now we have an extra gate on the walkway so it’s harder to accidentally leave the gate open. Oh, and they dig, too.
This has not been a fantastic year for my garden. The PNW has been drier than usual, we are going into the fall with a 6” deficit in water. I didn’t water my garden enough in the early weeks, so everything was just scrawny. But it’s ending better than it started. 🌱
Here are the suspect photos being shared by the FBI Salt Lake Office. I wanted to reproduce them here to not drive traffic to x. The photographs of the person of interest, show a man wearing a baseball cap, dark sunglasses and a black long-sleeve shirt with an image on it.
Maggie and Tiramisu are standing by for scratches and hugs. Honestly, I didn’t pose them, they do this on their own.
🌱 Not my garden, but I wish it was. These are pictures of an around-the-corner neighbor’s front yard garden. I’m as green with envy as their garden is green with plants. I want a vegetable garden as lush as this one. This is only a 20x15 foot area at most.
