Still in awe of this. @alamodrafthouse.bsky.social has been destroyed. What Alamo has done to their incredible film-going experience is akin to renaming Twitter "X" and letting awful people back on the platform. Decimating the goodwill of those who loved you for $$$ is a wild, wholly American thing.
I kept my season pass & tried the hated QR code shit. It sucks, but still the best screens in town. At my Alamo they used to have the loader from Aliens in the lobby. They literally threw it in the garbage and did this. I have never seen a brand slop itself faster than @alamodrafthouse.bsky.social
Saw Mackendrick's razer-sharp Sweet Smell of Success on 35mm with my kid today. Might go see the Schrader tomorrow. Seek out the movies. They are good for the soul.
