Bryn's Sounds and Zounds
@brynschurman
Author, composer, sound designer, voice actor, and wrecking-ball on the dance floor. Caustic Reverie, Sumptus Ignis, TheForgotton and a few other music projects. My 1st novel is Further Complications. PVK2, NMRIH. He/Him.
A second teaser for my upcoming single. Counting down to the cover reveal.
So what are y'all reading for Cape-eril, AKA Gothic April. I finished The Elementals by @michaelmcdowell.bsky.social and am halfway through @catrionaward.bsky.social's Little Eve and 1/4 into Curdle Creek by Yvonne Battle-Felton
Book mail day! The new one from Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden.
Crafting project: chainmail glow-in-the-dark scrunchie.
Dang, it is hard to top Nile. For the sweet spot of brutality to memorable riffs, their art style, and the fact that I feel enlightened to history and culture after reading the liner notes. Big ups to Nile!
Went on a shopping spree today at Books-a-Million. Score!
Ooh, new Lorts shirt day! Hail the Riden! @lordsofthetrident.bsky.social
It's been a two month-plus struggle but I finally got new strings on the noneucliedian monstrosity. Hopefully I can guilt myself into recording with it again.
Tracking some e-drums today for a special cover project.
The backup shift is ready to relieve our surveillance frog. Definitely worth the monthly subscription.
Bowling With Corpses was fun, creepy, and stylish. Maybe a little too scattershot for what I was in the mood for. Up next in comics: The Midnight - Shadows.
Reading update... I just finished Charles Stross's The Fuller Memorandum and loved it. Next for Sci-fi June, Ghost Station by S. A. Barnes.
It was fine. I think I'm going to take a break from the series after this one. I had also started The Fuller Memorandum halfway through on my e-reader and was having a better time with that version of esp+espionage. Next up, Joe Abercrombie's The Devils.
I've got the rough cut of my next lyric video done. Now for the polishing and eye-candy.
Bookmail time! This one doesn't have the fancy edge painting but I'm still impressed by the artwork and design. Looks great, @joeabercrombie.com!
I finished two amazing books in the last 24 hours: SGJ's epic The Buffalo Hunter Hunter and Brian Evenson's The Burning Glassy Floor of Hell. In the immortal words of John Cleese, "And now for something completely different."
Operation: Buffalo Swap was a success. I think this was the last red-paged copy in Leesburg. I also picked up one from @ronaldmalfi.bsky.social while I was at the store.
My metal mailbox overfloweth with care packages from Daughter Chaos and Ghost!
To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of my first novel Further Complications, it's part of the Kindle Countdown deals for the next few days. Currently $0.99. Check it out if you enjoy Florida-based crime comedies. www.amazon.com/Further-Comp...
And now I'd like to share one of my early attempts at making my own book cover. (dry heaving intensifies) Lots to love here... unreadable title, quirky font, the least appetizing popcorn presentation. Anyone able to guess the genre from this?
With apologies to @gannon.bsky.social Beautiful day for GUTTER (maintenance)
Due to poor VampApril planning and a library hold coming in way sooner than expected, I ended up reading a Grady Hendrix double feature of Southern Ladies Book Club right into Witchcraft for Wayward Girls. Up next is Buffalo Hunter Hunter, by @sgj.bsky.social
Well my bookmail came in, but I'm a little disappointed that I didn't get the red pages edition I was trying to order. Hopefully Booksamillion can make this right.
