The immediate "yeah this was designed to fit this exact use case, design second" comparison I can think of is the upcoming Telo MT1. Their goal: A four-door truck with a five-foot bed, in as compact a body as possible. You can Tell. But it's as long as a modern two-door Mini Cooper. They succeeded.

doing this because otherwise it'd be a twenty post thread here. brain is messed up but doing a bit better now. hopefully i can internalize this message and keep trucking forward. mental health (~), superliminal is involved somehow

god i really want to properly play through superluminal instead of just watching others play it. the ending speech just. hits me hard right now, in a good way, and i want to eventually experience it as god intended. it's just. idk. too much of it feels too close to home right now, in a good way. making me almost cry at this very late hour.

the ending monologue:

for me it's just the reminder that there are problems going on in my life that i can resolve with a new perspective, instead of bashing my head into the wall. it's just finding that new angle that's challenging, when a number of problems aren't ones that i have control over but have to at best tolerate the conditions anyways.

perspective is reality. i need to remember that. internalize it deep into my psyche so i can remind myself that sometimes, things look terrible because im making them look terrible - not necessarily because it actually is (or is as bad as im believing it to be).

there are still seriously fucked up things in this world. there are still serious problems and crisis happening. but in my corner, in my personal day to day where im trying to get by. a lot of my problems are ones that i tend to inflict on myself - either because im stubborn and refuse to give up when it's possible to change course, or because i can't bring myself to take a step back to find another angle.

unironically that is the main thing that actually benefits me the most in therapy and is what i appreciate about my current therapist. finding another angle when i lock up. reframing the things im personally projecting onto myself so i can work to stop making that unhealthy perspective my perceived reality.

I can, but it misses out on a lot of bones that the model has itself, leading to some... delightful distortions when an animation is applied at times, like this lovely pose. There's also a bunch of pre-existing blendshapes that cease to exist as well.

We got tail curl, a better arm position, and a slightly improved understanding of other stuff! Model is officially in that "good enough" state. I still want to get some animations added, like an idle pose so it looks less static, and feels more alive. But that's a later task. #kemorig

Working on setting up my avatar with @kemorig.bsky.social instead of whichever VRM-based tool works this week (why is blinking broken AGAIN, thanks random tracking update). At least got the guy exported to a .pak. It feels SO much more intuitive to work with than the myriad of VRM-based tools.

There would be no practical purpose for me to do this, but god would it be hilarious for me to buy an '06 Jeep Liberty again (which was my previous car before it killed itself via dead head gasket) and then EV convert it. Preserving the exterior. Extra funny if it's still vaguely off-road capable.
