Um...this cannot be done without seeing the dog, interacting with the dog, knowing the dog. My rescue dogs Jackson Bird and Buddy Rhodes TOLD ME their names, not the other way around! 🙂🙂
Was walking w/Jackson, & a little black dog was high-pitch-barking its HEAD OFF! The owner yanked the leash, shouted "Stop it!" & "Shush!" These things DON'T work. EVER‼️I showed her how to hold a leash & walk her dog. We saw an IMMEDIATE dif'nce in her pup, Jax(!). Hope she continues that way! #Dogs

Cuz the 8hrs of fireworks can even start to frustrate Jackson (i trained the fear out [will be posting about that SOON!], but 8hrs can wear on ANYONE's nerves), I had an idea!.... Grand Central Terminal! It's underground, so quiet, has food & places to sit. Jack got LOTS of pets from strangers(😃!).

Well, this is fun -- I saved several drafts of posts on my PC and @bsky.app now shows NONE of the media, saying they're stored on another device...when THIS was indeed the device the media was stored on. Wish they'd fix this app before adding more bells and whistles to it.
Since 2020, many communities are OVERRUN w/ #fireworks. Officers from SEVERAL districts've TOLD me "We do nothing cuz there're too many." Uh...NOT a good reason to NOT enforce a law! So, pls call ur local police, THANK THEM for being there & remind 'em War vets, 1st responders, & pets DESERVE PEACE.
It wasn't as hot today as yesterday. Why, in the shade it was downright breezy! So Jack took me to his fave spot overlooking the garden, and we just hung out there ALL morning. A friend happened to call, so she and i caught up, & i even got a light workout in, while Jack just enjoyed his park! #dogs
2/🧵Best bet? Say nothing. You can still hang with them if they want you nearby. But just be chill. If talking to them, use the same tone you'd use if a friend hanging out said, "Hey, can I use your bathroom." You'd probably just casually say "Sure." And go back to your bag of Fritos. Be that chill.
IMPORTANT note for #TheFourthofJuly & scared #Dogs❗️: Do NOT whisper soft, kind, mollifying things when they are ANXIOUS or SCARED. Why? Dogs know TONES, not words. Happy tones mean GOOD, angry tones are scary. A soft "It's okayy, sweetie" to a dog = "Good dog for being scared!" U MAKE IT WORSE!🧵👇

One night, playing w/Jackson in the park, I was rolling his orange Chuck-It ball along the ground; on the 3rd roll, a HAWK came out of the trees and chased the ball, clearly thinking it was prey‼️ But Jack looked up, saw him, and chased the hawk into a tree!
