This Day in Buster… July 14, 1954 Buster guest stars as "The Man" on the Rheingold Theatre TV show production of "The Awakening," an adaptation of Gogol's story "The Overcoat"—which also starred Douglas Fairbanks Jr. It is Buster’s first dramatic appearance on network television.

Movie Monday: “Un Duel à Mort,” 1947, was made during Buster Keaton’s time in Paris at the Cirque Medrano. An adaptation of the dueling scene first used in “The Passionate Plumber,” 1932, co-starring prolific French actor Antonin Berval.

July 12, 1931 The Gazette writes, "Buster Keaton's friends gave him an odd souvenir. On the 18th anniversary of the appearance of 'The Three Keatons' on 'Big Time' in New York. Lew Cody, Sid Grauman, and others sent him a barrel of old brooms. Old brooms were the principal 'props' in the act.
