THIS is using a human shield. I have no doubt Trump would do this in a heartbeat, but that’s not what happened with the planes.
The cost of the entire proposed slush fund would be a tiny percentage of what he’s grifted from the presidency over the last 18 months. Trump, as always, is cheap with his own money and generous with ours.
I’m guessing the person paid to write these instructions threw this in to see if anyone else would ever read them before approving them. Guess not.
He is the most needy, pathetic, and petty would-be tyrant in history. Any self-respecting person with the slightest tinge of dignity would be embarrassed by this. He laps it up like the insecure little child he is.
“When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men … but when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your father who is unseen.”
Nice that opening day coincides with spring break – guilt-free afternoon TV watching! Let’s go Mets!
The usual complete lack of class or basic human decency we’ve come to expect from Trump. I want people to remember this when he finally meets the same fate. I don’t wanna hear one word from the decorum police about people celebrating Trump‘s death unless they first condemn this. Most of them won’t.
Every president gets blamed for the bad things that happen during the presidency. Often times, that’s unfair. The bad things may be the result of circumstances over which the president has little or no control. This is NOT one of those times. Rising gas prices are due to Trump‘s stupid decision.
Trump is turning Venezuela into a US protectorate. This is Theodore Roosevelt foreign policy.
I think what Trump did in Venezuela was reckless and portends, an even more reckless larger foreign policy, but all of these people suggesting it is at odds with “America first” foreign policy simply don’t understand what “America first” has always meant.
Hey NYT— The appropriate word is not “urging.” It is “order”— the fact that presidents are not supposed to issue orders to the Attorney General doesn’t mean that this one doesn’t do it on a regular basis. If you’re a news organization, call it what it is.
This only strengthens my sense that Trump’s deal with the dictators (maybe informal, maybe not) is that Putin gets Europe, Xi gets Asia, and the US reverts to the 19th century version of the Monroe Doctrine.
Ok, genius. And when they buy health insurance with the money given them, who gets that money? The self-same money-sucking insurance companies. He is so damn stupid.
What Erika Kirk said was extraordinary and she deserves respect for saying it. What Trump said was despicable in ANY context, but in this one it was openly disrespectful of her. What an awful excuse for a human being he is.
From 1999 visit to the FDR memorial in DC. "They who seek to establish systems of government based on the regimentation of all human beings by a handful of individual rulers call this a new order. It is not new and it is not order."
Not hard to imagine the play here. 1. Trump miscalculates that he could bury the Epstein case files and no one would care. 2. His orders to supporters to just stop talking about it fail. 3. The WSJ publishes a story adding another piece to the story of his creepy friendship with Epstein.
Trump saying the Democrats “created” the Epstein files has me—for the first time—thinking there really might be something incredibly damning in them about him.
As national economic policy, Trump’s erratic yo-yo-ing on tariffs makes absolutely no sense. But if, as this suggests, someone is making huge profits off of prior knowledge of these wild policy swings, it makes perfect sense.
