Software engineer. Over 30 years of GNU/Linux. Cycled to work. Will consider the good, bad, and the ugly. Insomnia: there's an app for that. Brought up in a library. Currently, HPC-ing. Oadby Heights.
Planetary science on a budget using a 300mm lens with space foil stretched over the lens hood.
So, I sue them. Good to know. I'm glad they can print money, that my children can have after the 30 year inquiry. 80,000 NHS providers, what could go wrong.
The UK has some of the highest energy prices in the world. Balcony solar can help reduce demand, bringing down costs for everyone. As it has in Germany, whose primary energy source is now renewables (energy transition). As to 800w being useless, I'm working from home & my whole house is using 500w.
Rain or sun, that is the question. I ran out in to the rain to check a complicated collection of guttering around some sheds. Part of it was blocked in a hard to reach place. Now, I need more rain to see if I've unblocked it. But, but, lovely sun and free energy...
After a dull dull dull Winter, we were enjoying a fully charged battery and a tank of hot water everyday. Feeling quite smug while the garden dried out. Not anymore.
Now rocking 16GB. I only paused for thought about N100 after hitting the pay button. Home Assistant had just started to use swap.
Can a font help us to be a better coder or sys admin? I've just read that someone bought a font for $50 for this reason. I think X11 nailed it with 7x13. Orange on black, FTW.
Christmas has started with St. Nicholas Day. We're a bit German. I found a box of mince pies by my shoe. They're now by my keyboard and while I'm mostly ambivalent about this pie variant they have become my highest priority job today. Distracting. #mincePieQueue
We had our meters swapped for SMETS2 meters. Unfortunately, the installer put one of the CT clamps for the battery system the wrong way around and things went loopy for a while. It was a good thing I was paying attention. We're signed up to Glow and are waiting to get on Octopus's Agile tariff.
I won these Wharfedale Diamond 4s in a What-HiFi postcard competition in the 80s. This Fosi Audio amp has brought both these and a horribly average Jamo SW15 subwoofer to stunning life.
Hmmm... the VegTrug in a raised bed thinks it's 15°C when it's only 5°C. Luckily, it's not part of any automations yet. Only the battery value looks correct. #homeassistant
