Me & @dwindlingbeth.bsky.social went to a grief ceremony for local trees killed by the microburst last month. As we all prepared to begin, a rainbow greeted us.

why are we pretending Wilson didn't write a salient, insightful film review? I've seen a few posts from men today talking about Wilson's review like all she's doing is nitpicking from her scholarly lane, but that can only be your take if you didn't really read it.

improv'd some five-spice glazed pork belly the other night; waiting for the heatwave to break so I can make it again. Thorne said it tasted like Ting Wong (our fav roast meats over rice spot in Philly's Chinatown), which is a compliment high that I'm still riding.

my last brew of what might be the best coffee I've had so far this year. Finished this bag at its peak (6.5 weeks from its roast date). Tasted like gooseberry and chrysanthemum tea and a bit of dulche de leche & passionfruit underneath. What a blessing to be able to splurge on a coffee like this.

Rest in peace to poet Ryan Bollenbach, who lost his life to ALS yesterday. He was only 37 years old. Ryan was in the University of Alabama's MFA program with me, where we were both BWR section editors. He went on to Houston, where he edited Gulf Coast. May the Earth recieve you well, Ryan.
